Piranhas have long been rumored to be a new addition to the long planned Jungle Cruise Refurb... Hmmm...
I heard that they were also going to have a bait station on the dock before you are loaded into the boat. You can buy live goldfish in a little cup at the bait station. Then when you get to the piranhas, you can throw the goldfish into the water to view a full bore feeding frenzy.

Or just the fingertips of unsuspecting guests...

He was the guest speaker on the WDWFANBOYS podcast last fri man can he talk, he sidestepped every question asked and then postured with stories, they were good stories but not very relevant to the asked questions

I believe he is their regular go-to guest and also lives in the same area relatively. But he just has nothing important to say anymore and is a characture of an online Disney 'expert' as time has passed him by. I'd say he was second only to Lutz as someone that was a 'must read' as a fan of Disney parks from around 1998-2002, but is just an obscure guy these days.

He should have been one of the top dogs of the social media explosion, but his fuse never ignited and every boi and his mommy got a blog (and Disney invites, access, freebies and swag) in the meantime.

It doesn't help that his rep is largely one of someone who never completes a story, talks down to his audience and doesn't really have many sources of substance in the company.

I would have asked him, "Are you ever going to finish your Star Tours series? Or Muppet series? Or..."

Yep. That's what I was getting at. How many times did he start series that instead of a column or two went on and on and ... then nothing because when he got 61% into a story, he'd just stop and never go back. It's very insulting to readership.

OK, I can watch the VP debate or turn on some music and play here ... what do I do? what do I do?

Oh, he's too good for us now. :) He's a Huffington Blogger! ;)

The VAST majority of HuffPo bloggers are either unpaid or receive a tiny 'fee' ... where do you think Jim fits in that?

Yea, MAGIC seems to be the meeting grounds for LPers in need of theme park discussion. LP is still the best Politics of Disney Nerds site on the internets though. Goofyernmost, I'm dshyates over at LP.

I don't discuss politics on Disney sites, largely, unless it is something regarding Disney ... like say Disney paying to get Tea Party candidates elected in Florida to fight casino expansion. I never went to the World Events forum on LP.com, because people and their views scare me, and I'm glad we don't do that here.

And Spirit, Glad you had time to descend from on high to visit us up here in Mosquito County. As you discovered, this is where we keep our rain. The girls and I had our first night of HHNs being a total wash out too. But the following 6 nights of HHN fun were on par with previous years. Some things better, some things worse than before. I prefer the scarezones over the roaming hordes. But that is because with the scarezones there was more themeing involved. And I am a themeing geek.

I honestly enjoyed my visit to HHNs, but not sure whether or not I would have felt the same under good conditions. ... I certainly enjoyed Knott's Haunt better this year for various reasons.

And as far as what I am hearing concerning DHS expansion, is that the entire desire to fix the place has cooled because of all the infighting. I am hearing that a lot of TDO folks just want "out".

I don't doubt that. There's so much chatter going on behind the scenes that it makes your head spin.

Sat here at Tower exit (love free wifi - best part of NG) reading. What a fun three weeks this has been. Interesting to read some of the comments when I can. Do I really appear condescending? If so I apologise. I do know things I can't specifically mention yet. Some good some bad.

Three weeks ... you UKers sure have it easy!!!

Seriously, though, aren't you at all bored with WDW spending so much time there?

(BTW, would have liked to talk more, but circumstances made that difficult!)

Well... The Mouse got nothing of the extra week off us. Not that it would have hurt, but we had more to see and do.

And the competition is looking seriously good.

So correct me if I read your statement wrong, but basically there's a very good possibility that DHS won't be getting Carsland after all?

Any recent updates any of our insiders can provide on the DHS matter?

Yup, that's where he lost me. Like many, I discovered his site and thought "wow!" but then once you start reading, and he never finishes a darn thing, it gets frustrating. And then after many years of seeing him throw crap to a wall and hope it sticks, it made me even doubt a lot he said in those stories to begin with. If you take the average "article" he posts, it could easily be written by anyone who comes to this board, reads what is here, and then adds some speculation to make it all sound legit. I've read some and been like, "Wait, what was that about?" LOL.

The VAST majority of HuffPo bloggers are either unpaid or receive a tiny 'fee' ... where do you think Jim fits in that?

LOL, yes, I was kind of using it as a pejorative - HuffPost has gone downhill since they were bought out. And of course at the bottom of that hill is...another Hill, LOL. What money he makes is from advertising, which his site does to an obnoxious level (even his RSS feed).

Does give us something to talk about, though - which as his ego leads the way with him, is assuredly his goal.

I am under the impression that Carsland is most likely still on its way, but that TDO is being kept out of the decision making process. Now that Burbank is aware of the softening occupancy rate problem the finger pointing has begun. And TDO is taking a beating in the halls in Burbank.

Thanks for clarifying that, I appreciate that. If you're right, i'm happy to hear it because this sort of nonsense involving TDO and their antics has gone on for far too long without consequence. From the way they've helped to run WDW into the ground, the less decision making power they have the better.

Exciting times indeed. Carsland, MI coaster, FLE, something "fishy", some of which may never happen, but it's good that (hopefully) that TDO is getting the scrutiny that it deserves. In the end, I hope that this all leads to some much needed attention, direction, and general turnaround for WDW. I prefer to think that things are generally going (although painfully) in the right direction. Let's hope.

I suppose I should respond to this. Jim was at the 30th, I wasn't, and I don't know the particulars of whether or not he was there for long.

We had him on and he answered listener questions. Most of the show was about Hollywood Studios, and if you care to listen it will be out and completely uncensored on November 1st.
