lol Im sure it will be running by then, I think the last thing TDA wants is for this to get delayed as its the first major project get going for the future of DCA. If I remember correctly both TSMM! and WOC were both bugeted/approved prior to the billion expansion.

I went to the website and requested a vacation planning DVD, and give them my address...maybe I just didn't realize there was WDW on there, we all know that is serious possibility...:lookaroun

Actually, it was a combo DVD :D When you first play it, one of the first screens ask you to choose between WDW and DL. I remember thinking that when I'm bored someday and missing wdw, I'll have to watch that portion as well. :)

From the Al Lutz update today. He dismisses the rumors of WoC being behind schedule..

The testing for World of Color happens nightly now, which is why DCA has changed its opening time to 9:00 AM most of the week which lets them get away with closing the park earlier in the evening so that testing can begin. Not surprisingly, there are countless rumors out there about the show being hopelessly behind schedule and with a debut date being pushed back from the late April timeline we'd originally told you about to anything from May to July.

The thing to remember here is that in any big Disney project there are always reports of massive delays and setbacks, but tenured Imagineers leading such projects calmly continue with their work while sub-contractors and theme park technicians fret about the tiny details and needlessly fuel the rumor mill.

As of now, the testing for World of Color is just about on schedule and all the major elements of the show are coming together as planned. The rainy weather this winter has caused some delays to the construction of the viewing area, but those delays are minor and the construction walls surrounding the landscaped Paradise Park viewing area will be coming down next month.

They were testing the Under the Sea portion of WoC tonight. From boy33's Twitter:

boy33 - World of Color is currently doing random testing. Under the Sea segment just finished. It's. So. Pretty!!!

boy 33- This testing is reallllllly rough. It's very very very pretty though. EPIC!

and some pictures of fountains

also, Paradise Park's opening date has been pushed back to March. some reports, however, claim that it won't open until April.

EDIT - Another picture of testing. Chernabog tower! not the best picture though

boy33 - Back to testing. Chernabog frame is up and shooting LOTS of water. Can't take good pics though. They all come out lame.

boy33 - Chernabog frame from farrrr. You can kinda make it out. :/

boy33 has a picture of an interesting fire effect. this is how he describes it:

They are now testing some weird fire effect thing made of water and fog all over the platform. Looks amazing.

not exactly sure what this is. only thing I can think of is that imagineering video that was released by Disney on youtube a while back, where they featured globes of water that would burst with fire? anyone remember that?

Hmm looking at the above picture of the overall of Paradise Park at night the trees are lit in blue, and the new tree near the SF building, are those LED lights lighting up the tree? 2 on the building side and 1 on the "gate" side. Maybe more of that sweeping through the viewing area? or am I looking to far into this.....

See the larger here-

An update on this. not only are the new trees lit up by LEDs, but on my last trip I noticed that the the new palm trees in Paradise Park Plaza (near PoM) are lit up the same way! Each palm tree has like 2-3 LED spotlights shining on them, looks really nice.

Also, a poster on MiceChat reported seeing one of the lamps in Paradise Park cycling through different colors. Looks like they will be able to change through different colors as was previously rumored. He said it looked similar to this, video here

There are two in blue, and who is Steve? :lookaroun

Steve Davison - an Imagineer who is in charge of Parades and spectaculars :) He's the guy responsible for WoC, you can see him in the earlier Blue Sky Cellar and D23 Expo presentations of the show:
