When my husband and I went to Kauai we ate at Puka Dog. I remember them being very good. I think I had mango with the special mustard, but I can't remember exactly. I don't remember the price either, but if I went back I would go again.

Yes, @Zipitidoda I sometimes make breakfast in the room, even in Hawaii. See the little red-headed bird on the balcony railing? It joined us for breakfast a couple of mornings. We did not feed it though as there are signs asking tourists not to feed the birds, feral cats or chickens.

I don't know what your plans are but if you have the opportunity to eat at Roy's it is a very good Hawaiian fusion type restaurant. It is a little pricey but we had many good meals at his restaurants on the different Hawaiian Islands and at his restaurant in Chicago.
