Are you sure it's not white coat syndrome? If you are feeling better at home, but then you get to the doctor and you are worried about what the results will be, that could make your BP skyrocket just from the anxiety.
Yeah that is exactly what I do. I freak out going to any dtr. I think it comes from age and just dreading finding something new wrong. I am going to have to try better. ;)

As others have suggested, maybe take your BP 1 or 2 times a day, AT HOME. If possible, try to be consistent with the time that you check your BP--over the course of even a week, you can find if you'r numbers are consistent, or if you have intermittent spikes. When you only have your BP taken at random, weeks or months apart, you really don't have any benchmark figure for comparison.
Thank you. I have started taking it again today at home. I was banned by the dtr from taking it. That's because if it went up a bit, I totally got upset and each time after that it was high. But, I will explain in the next post. :)

Good morning! Thank you so much for the concern and support. It does really help me. :)
Today I decided to start taking my bp at home again. I was banned from taking it myself at home cause I freaked out if it was higher than the day before no matter what I did to try to lower it. You will remember yesterday's was 171/85 and 161/80something. Today it was...143/83!! I know that is higher than I need. But, it is way lower than at the dtr. I have explained to him about how anxious I get and the first visit he agreed that I had white coat syndrome. But, yesterday he decided that it was plain high blood pressure. :rolleyes:
Anyways, my new meds he prescribed had to be ordered and isn't here yet. I am going to start it and hopefully it will drop some points. Fingers crossed!!
Today I had to run out and get food for my DH in order to prepare for his 3-year colonoscopy next week. So, I will be making 2 different meals thru the weekend. :(
Hope you all have a good day!! {{HUGS}}

Um....correct me if I'm wrong, but...Thanksgiving IS still almost a month away, correct? I can't keep my house clean for 5 minutes much less 5 weeks. Why so early?
Not regular cleaning. Things like ceiling fans, behind and under furniture, base boards, moldings, washing the curtains, windows inside and out and such. The big seasonal cleaning

Well that's a WHOLE lot better, even if it's not normal yet...it sounds like it IS heading in the right direction. Just keep it up. Breathe in, breathe out, repeat as needed.

That makes so much more sense. My house is a DISASTER at the moment...I just have too much to deal with to worry about it and I have no company coming over, so it's going to wait a bit. It will still be there once things settle down. We may have to dig to find the floor, but I'm sure we have a shovel somewhere.

I took the plunge and bought a FitBit. It's an alta HR. I wanted one that was also a watch, and between the Alta and the Alta HR, people on Amazon liked the Alta HR better, so I spent a little bit more and got the HR. It's not water proof, but I have a water proof watch, so not really a big deal for me. Even though I've lost weight due to changing my diet a bit and going on thyroid medication, I'm probably not moving as much as I should be, so I need a bit of a reminder. It's coming today, so I shall test it after work.

I don't have a Fitbit brand, but just having the cracker reminds me to move. And it lets me see how much I'm moving, too. Sometimes I'm surprised by how much I've already done, just by getting the kids and myself up and ready for the day...doing laundry, grocery shopping...the little things you don't think about. It all adds up. Great motivator!

I got it and started wearing it at 6 pm. By the time I took it off to shower, I'd hit 5000 steps. I expected to get a good bit of steps in because of my workout, but not that many.

Happy zen and cooking day here. First up turning my kitchen into a DIY take away. Steamed dumplings, Chinese meatballs, veggies with a ginger chili sauce, cucumber "pickles" and fried rice. I'm making mac and cheese and applesauce bread for the boys. almost forgot I'm out of quinoa and beans for bowls so that will also get done. Tomorrow my life gets back to normal and I plan on enjoying it:D
