working out for Disney

Hello-

I am in with my legs circuit. I am always so happy when my circuits are over, even though they are only 30 minutes.

The reason they closed the office was because my husband's boss wanted a company to come in and deep clean and fix the AC after finding out someone had been diagnosed with pneumonia. My husband is a federal bank examiner and they work in a branch of the bank they examine. All summer long, the bank branch was having issues with AC that would cause the office to get up into the mid 80s on some days and people would be sent home because of it. So, I think his boss used the pneumonia scare to get the bank to fix the AC once and for all.

Anyway, I am making chili in my Instant Pot (electric pressure cooker). There's a small learning curve with it, but I am catching on. It's like a slow cooker on steroids. :)
I have been seeing ads for those Instant Pot things and it looks interesting. Now, how do I convince my wife we need another kitchen gadget? Most of the stuff I buy (juicer, mixers, blenders, rotisserie oven, and lots of other stuff) ends up in the attic after a few uses.

So @figmentfan423 we are learning from your trip report that you make some awesome salads and stir fry. Hope you will take some photos of your creations and share with us for inspiration. I need to eat more salads and veggies and could use the inspiration.
Thank you I'll try and do so but it was easier on vacation than it is at home. We need one of us to take a pic and one to hold the boys back from the food LOL

I like it because it's like a crock pot, but way quicker. The other night, I made chicken "enchiladas." I dumped all the ingredients, including four frozen chicken . It took about 10 minutes to come up to pressure, then 6 cook. Then I released the pressure, added the cheese and the corn tortillas and dinner was ready. You can also saute in it, then add other ingredients and then pressure cook it. There is also a slow cooker mode. I make my rice in it, too. It is very versatile.

That's really interesting. I never heard of this instant pot until it was mentioned in this thread. Amazing what I learn on here!!

By the way, I love my regular crock pots (I have a small one and a medium one). :)

Good morning 5 fast Leslie Sansone miles done and I went out with both groups and did 2 1/2 miles each time. I'm having my much deserved first cup of coffee with coconut milk:D Lunch will be a salad and dinner left over curry:hungry:

I love coffee. I always use half and half, and either some honey or raw sugar (when I can get the raw kind).

So does the coconut milk flavor the coffee with a coconut taste?

I also have some vanilla soy milk. Have you ever tried vanilla soy in your coffee? I haven't, but wondering if you have.

Back to trying creative uses for leftovers. This is last night's marinara with meatballs, sauteed onions, roasted red peppers, tomatoes and minced garlic reduced over a low simmer then added to a cheese omelet. Very tasty and while not exactly low carb, lower than biscuits and hashbrowns.

How is it that your "leftovers" look better than my freshly cooked meals, on the first day?!!!

Thank you. We both like trying different things with leftovers. We also like to try different ways to use those rotisserie chickens you can pick up at Sam's or the grocery store. Bought this cook book recently but have not tried many recipes in it yet.

I was never a coffee drinker until my wife got me one of those Keurig machines a couple of years ago for a Valentines Day present. Now I love trying different flavors. She says I like a little coffee in my creamer, but I just can't drink it black. Might have to give the coconut milk a try. I tried almond milk and did not care for it. I have been trying all kinds of flavors of kcups. Best one so far for me is one called Chocolate Coconut Dream. It tastes kinda like an Almond Joy bar.

I just bought a variety pack that has four different flavors of k-cups. These are interesting, but the Blackberry cobbler flavor is a little weird.

Ok, I admit I don't really watch any exercise videos or download any workouts. Question...what is a Leslie Sansone mile and how is it any different than a Figgy mile?

It just occurred to me that I post a lot of random crap on here that has nothing to do with the thread topic of working out. I hope you will forgive me. Please feel free to tell me to go away if you tire of my random weirdness. And, I am a visually oriented person who tends to post a lot of photos to accompany my random crap, which then makes for more random crap.
In fact, this specific post of mine is full of random crap too. Crap.

This is a discussion forum. With that comes two things! One is random crap and the other is specific crap. I'd say your fine. The topic police are either not interested in this particular thread or find it OK, so post away. I beleive that under the Chit Chat forum all the retentive rules are overlooked. ;):joyfull:

I have tried it. It isn't bad. You don't get that smooth mouth-feel like with cream. I have actually started using 2% milk in my coffee instead of cream to cut a few calories.
