Hi, all. Not sleeping well makes it hard to get up and exercise.

Didn't get up early yesterday morning, but made time for a quick 20-minute full body workout with weights. It's better than nothing. Hubby was off yesterday and in charge of dinner--ham steak and linguine with garlic & oil, accompanied by a garden salad.

Operating on 3 1/2 hours cumulative sleep today, but he's on the late shift, so I'll be getting in a workout when I get home. I have some leftover tomato, basil & white bean salad that I'll throw some grilled shrimp onto for dinner.

Managed 20 minutes cardio before cooking. Of course, the glass (or two) of Pinot Grigio will likely wipe that out. ;)

I'm exhausted! My bad nights sleep has caught up to me. At least I should sleep well tonight!

I didn't get in a workout yesterday. I was supposed to work, so I didn't do anything during the day exercise-wise, but then my work called me and said it was DEAD there, so I didn't need to come in. But, I walked, and/or rode my bike every day other than yesterday, so I guess missing one day won't hurt me. BUT, today we have a birthday party to go to, and then Hubby and I are having a date night, so I see unhealthy food in my near future.

5:10 a.m. Up, showered, packed, ready to go. I like to get through Gainesville early on game day. Sleepyhead, on the other hand, appears to be in no hurry.
We will stop for gas, breakfast and restroom before getting to the Georgia line, so at least three stops in the next three hours after we start out. Guess I am an impatient traveller.

We have been having date night and somewhat unhealthy food for most of the week. Will start eating better tomorrow, or maybe the next day!

Good morning!! Thanks guys for all the concern about my car. Good news and bad news. Good is they hooked it up to the computer and sensor tests, showed nothing. But, still don't know what it was. So, I researched last night. Don't know if that is a bad or good thing:rolleyes:
Lots of people have had the same problem with stalling due to throttle problems. So my DH called this morning to our dealer this time and another test to see if a code shows up. If it doesn't, they can't do anything! Ugh!! It is so frustrating! :banghead::banghead::banghead: So here I sit waiting for the guy to call to schedule an appointment. And afraid to drive the car.
That's beyond weird. My dh had something like that happen with his last car and it wound up on a recall list about a week later. Good luck

Hello-

I am in with a full body circuit. It seems like it's getting a little bit easier. I can do without all of the burpees, though. :hungover:

We were thinking of going to the beach tomorrow, but I am having second thoughts, there's a heat advisory and the beaches were closed last weekend because of Hermine. So, I think there is pent-up demand for beach going this weekend. I'll see how I feel tomorrow.
I hope you have fun either at the beach or home. I miss being able to just hop on the Parkway and going to the beach when I want

In just skimming through your trip report, which is amazing, I don't see how you could squeeze in much more. SeaWorld is fine for us, but I don't really see how it would add much of anything to your already excellent adventure. It might even take away from other stuff you might not want to miss.
Thank you for the kind words

Came back to the room early today. Pool time! It has been good weather most of the week except for evening rain Sunday. Very hot and humid today. Don't see how people handle the July and August heat, though I suppose it is similar to today.
My dh who likes and handles the heat like you got one of those Mission towels and ducked into the A/C whenever he could. That and water lots and lots of water.

Happy farm market Saturday. I cleaned out the big farm market yesterday but I'm hoping to find a few other things today. If nothing else it's fun to walk around there. So between that a crazy whole body vinyassa flow this morning and swimming later I think I'm covered exercise wise. Seeing I'm not going to be inside much today it's a good day to go raw(food wise) smoothies and salads sound just about right:joyfull: I have some quinoa and beans I can add to the guys' salads. Have fun and be safe in the heat this weekend

Part of the problem is that just about everything is somehow computerized on cars now, versus the old days. And don't even get me started about the code readers. Recently, I was reading comments from a long-time car mechanic, and he was expressing his frustration with the newer crop of mechanics, in that he said (many) of them only knew how to read codes. The bulk didn't have a clue how to really troubleshoot problems.

I'm getting to the point where I will just try the easiest and cheapest way first. If there is an additive that claims to cover my problem, I give it a try. I'm really, as cynical as this sounds, starting to feel certain that the dealers just look in the repair charges software and whatever is the most expensive to repair will be what they tell you is wrong.

According to my hubby, sometimes there will be a few codes that appear. (He has his own code machine that he uses before he takes the car in for a repair, so that he'll know if the response he receives from the mechanic is the real deal or not. He could do many of the repairs himself, but doesn't have the necessary tools. Many years ago, he repaired cars.) Anyway, there are (some) unscrupulous mechanics that definitely will "start" with the higher-priced (code) repairs, and then work their way down the list, until the car is actually fixed.

That's pretty much why I don't do most of my repairs. When I downsized to move to NC, I sold most of my tools, my ramps, my jacks, etc., besides, I just don't want to do it anymore. It seems way to much like work, but, that doesn't make me unable to figure out most of the problems, I just don't have any machine, at my disposal, to check the codes myself. Even if I did, as you say, everything is computerized now and to be honest, when I open the hood on my old Cadillac all I see is another full plastic hood over the engine.

I try really hard to make sure that whomever I take it too, is aware that I do know how engines work to try and keep them honest, but, if it's new technology they will know that I do not have a clue and I am at their mercy. I usually find out about it eventually and hope that they got good use from whatever money I spent there because they will be getting no more from me. They all seem to start out really good and try to do whatever they can to just take care of the problem, without overdoing it, but, the more you go, the more "comfortable" they seem to get and start to make moves just to see what they can get away with. They can burn me once, but, that will be the last time.

We lease our car now. We had really bad luck with cars here that were just money pits. Our first one over here, we bought it from a private owner and it kept leaking oil. When my Daughter was born, the car seat barely fit...the seatbelts were too short and almost didn't close around it. So when it got to the point that repairs were going to be more expensive than a new car, we went a traded it in. But we got a lemon. They told us it was a 2000, but the engine had just been replaced, so it was basically like having a brand new car. (it was 2007) So 2 years later, the engine cratered and we had to pay $2000 to replace it. Then in another 2 years, it cratered again. We opted not to fix it because it if it was burning out the engine every 2 years, it wasn't worth it...PLUS, in the winter, there was a manufacturing error that caused the locks on the doors to freeze. You could open the doors from the outside, but not from the inside, and the driver's side door wouldn't even close all the way, so DH had to drive holding the door closed, then when we got where we were going, he had to go around to my side to let me out. He dropped me off at work once and neither hubby nor I could get our doors open, the window was frozen shut so I couldn't roll down the window to open the door from the outside. I had to frantically wave to get the attention of a coworker to come spring me from the car. When it cratered the 2nd time, we sold it and got a lease car. It's nice because the lease company pays the insurance and basic maintenance. We just pay for the gas and we pay for major repairs if we cause them. It costs less than a car payment, and it's a brand new car. Every 5 years or something, you pick out a new one, or you can choose to buy the one you've been driving, BUT, then all the repairs and insurance and such are yours again. Hubby says he's done owning cars, we'll just lease from now on. It's so nice not having to worry about how much it's going to cost if something goes wrong because it's the company's responsibility.

I was sure right about unhealthy food yesterday!! We went to the birthday party, and it's my friend's son...they are from Iran. So we had all this authentic Iranian food. There were these things like egg rolls, without egg. It was a spicy meat and potato thing in a pastry wrapper and deep fried. OMG, they were soooo good. And then she had a spread for bread and I don't know what it's called, but it's kind of like kashke bademjan. It's eggplant and herbs and then this one was red instead of green and it has a fried egg over the top. But it's also delicious....I liked it better than the kashke bademjan because it doesn't have the mint in it. I like mint, but not on my bread. Then she had another dish that she said is kind of their basis for spaghetti sauce, but it can be eaten just as it is, and it was sooooo good. Dinner wasn't too unhealthy. For one, I was still nearly full from the birthday party food. We had tapas for dinner, so it was just small bits and I only made it through 3 rounds of 2 tapas. I had spicy beef points in a sweet chili sauce, Spinach and ricotta strudel, stuffed mushrooms, onion rings (which were NOT good and I shared them with hubby. They weren't battered rings of onion. They were battered rings with some minced onion in them and you couldn't taste the onion. SO bland) and another round of the beef points and I ordered breaded goat cheese in honey, but I didn't like it, so that went to hubby, too. He's kind of a garbage disposal...he'll eat anything. So I didn't eat much at dinner, but I had enough throughout the day to thoroughly counteract any exercise I might do this week.
