working out for Disney

The heat and humidity have returned to the south. Probably won't be able to open up the house, turn off the air conditioning and circulate the cool morning air again for a couple of months, but it was nice for a few days.
We still enjoy an early morning breakfast on the porch under the ceiling fan, but sometimes it is just too hot for that. I really can't complain much though seeing on the news the heatwave out west.

That's just ridiculous. Good for your husband for telling them his time was valuable and making them pay to ship the car seat. Wow, that is cheeky--trying to get you to pay for a car seat they lost. Yes, I do think you're due for a seamless, issue-free trip to the US. :)
I sure hope so. That was also the trip that we were in the passport check/customs line for about 2 hours or so because we got stuck behind a woman from Russia who spoke no English, no one in the line spoke Russian, she hadn't filled out all the paperwork, and the person she was supposed to stay with wasn't answering her phone, so they couldn't verify that she had accommodations for her stay. After an hour and a half, they finally opened up one more line, but they started halfway through the line, which was in back of us. So all the people that came after us got to go through first. We were SOOOO frustrated, and they wouldn't let us go through the American passport line, even though -I- have an American passport. -I- could have gone through, but I'd still have had to wait for Hubby and the kids, and I'd have had to leave him alone with them to go through the US citizen line. So I went through the foreigners line. Orlando Airport was not a positive experience...DS had cars crocs that he LOVED, and they made us take off our shoes 3 times...and that was when we came IN to Orlando (which makes no sense). DS was only 2 and didn't understand that he was going to get his shoes back, so he screamed bloody murder every time we had to take them off and send them through the scanner. If we hadn't had such a great time at Disney, I don't think we'd have ever wanted to go back to Orlando.

That is quite a work out! Good luck today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW will you still be able to get away this summer with the move?

So far, it's still on. I am worried about getting Fps for rides. Our window opened on the 8th, but we haven't bought tickets yet. We've been spending so much money on this move and it can't be avoided. I am worried about what our ride options will be by the time we can buy our tickets. I really miss the pre FP+ way of touring the parks. We would get up, have breakfast and get on the first bus we saw at the bus stop.

I have had one eye on a Disney Cruise, but we're within the period when we'd have to pay in full once we've booked for the dates we'd want to go. Plus, it's a bit more money than a WDW at this point, but I think I have re-booking discount floating out there.

We were looking at houses last week and a few of them had those. I had never seen those types of fans before. I think that is a great idea for those days in the upper 60s-mid 70s and you don't want to turn on the air.

Aww, your poor little guy and his Cars crocs. :( MCO is a mess. I have TSA Pre-Check and I still had to wait in long line there. I am always left wondering how I have never waited more than 10 minutes at O'Hare, which handles a high volume of passengers, yet I have waited in line for over 30 minutes at MCO.

I have found with the passports, if the majority of you family has one type of passport, you can "smuggle" in someone who has a different passport. Before my son got his UK passport, we'd have to wait in the non-UK/EU lines to get through passport control in the UK. Now, my son and husband show their UK passports and I just slip stream in with them. I found this to be true when we would fly to Europe from London, I would go in the EU lanes with them and nobody ever gave me grief about it.

We use the whole house fan often in the spring and fall as I really like the fresh air. Ours is kinda loud, but you would not believe how much air it pulls in and then dispenses through the attic. Ceiling fans on the porch make outdoor time last longer too.

Here is a pic of the roasted veggies I made on the grill yesterday evening. My wife appreciates when I cook outdoors to help keep the house a little cooler. These were made with a Weber Thai Chili seasoning, drizzled with canola oil and roasted on the grill over indirect heat at 450 degrees for about 35 minutes. Very tasty.

We have it too!! The ac will have to stay on. My cat is looking like a dead cat lying around. She is getting too hot with that fur coat! I looked awhile ago and we were at 89. It is so humid out! Wish we had an attic fan.
Stay cool @epcotisbest and Mrs isbest.

I can book at 30 days out so I've been keeping an eye out what you can at that time and mostly everything is available. Not great times but between getting what you can and GAC you should be fine.

OK-I just finished a 30 minute hiit workout that used a barbell. :hungover:

It was intense...it was a loooong 30 minutes. I was almost done when my weather radio went off to tell me we are under a tornado watch until 1 AM. I hope it doesn't turn into a warning. Ugh. I'll probably stay up and watch "The Golden Girls" until 1 AM. I want to stay awake in case anything goes down. I am going to put some pillows and blankets by the basement door--just in case we need to go down there and cover ourselves. LOL

That's good. We're not really early risers on vacation, so we can do odd times. We don't use GAC, we just go at his pace and do what we can. I just wanted to say that, because I know that's a contentious topic in this forum and I don't want to be flamed or be the recipient of nasty PMs. However, I don't have a problem with GAC--I also want to put that out there. LOL

It really depends on who is working the security on that day. I've had some let hubby and I go together through the line for either the Netherlands or the US because one of us has a passport for it, and I've had some who said we either had to separate and go through alone, or both through the foreigners line. I suppose maybe it also has to do with how busy they are. If it's a low volume day, sending an extra person through the citizen line is no biggie.
Do you have both an American and UK passport for your son then? I've thought about getting US passports for the kids, but it doesn't seem necessary and it would cost us over 500 Euros per kid to get documents translated, pay processing fees, etc. If we were MOVING to the US, obviously I'd do that, but just for a couple of trips back and forth, it's not worth paying 1000-1500 euros when they don't necessarily need it.
