I'm so glad everybody had a fun weekend. Now back to our regularly scheduled healthy habits:hilarious: So I did LS 5 miles the one with weights, belt with stretchies and then stretch band and heading out with both my walking groups to enjoy the nice weather. Berry smoothie for breakfast and salads with tofu bacon for lunch and dinner:)

Yes, gotta be more disciplined and eat more healthy this week. Wife is outta town on business till Wednesday then we head to Elkmont to see the synchronized fireflies Thursday, then she has to be back Saturday to fly out to California for another business trip and will be gone until next Friday. It is a challenge for me to eat healthy while she is away. I try, and usually do OK, but find it easier to prepare and eat healthy when it is for two vs. for just me. Weird, huh?

@epcotisbest , as usual, you knocked it out of the park with those pictures!! I got such a laugh out of your "helper" underneath the grill, just hoping for a few bites of flying meat!! :hilarious: :hilarious:
Thank you. The burgers were good. Wish I could say I only had one, but, let's just say I had, oh, more than one.
The Maltipoo always hunts for scraps. One time I dropped about a quarter sized piece of lump charcoal while filling the grill and she gobbled it up.
The Maltese is a scrap hunter as well, but he usually sticks to food, not charcoal. He did scarf up a stink bug one day, but spit it out real quick.

No workout for me today....I'm taking care of a sick baby. Well...an 8 year old baby, but he's pretty miserable and I think we're going to end up at the doctor's office. Headache, high fever, stomach ache and neck pain...the neck pain is what worries me. That and the severe headache...he's never complained of a headache before. I was planning to ride my bike into town this morning, but I can't leave him alone. I DID get a bit of extra exercise last night, though. I had done an ab workout and cleaned my dining room and moved everything back into place since DD's party is long over, but then I got called into work at the last minute. They needed emergency help. Severely short-staffed last night and we ended up getting 1300 orders done in only 4.5 hours (we had to work an extra half hour) with a small group...we worked our tails off! I was sweating up a storm and sticky by the time we were done....I'm going to say that was a solid workout, even though I was only packing. There was a lot of bending over and lifting boxes, and quite a bit of walking back and forth, too, getting carts, etc. That counts, right?

I don't want to scare you, but my brother had viral meningitis 20+ years ago. He had similar symptoms. I would definitely get it ruled out. I hope he feels better soon.

Yep, that's what worries me about the neck pain. I already have an appointment with the doctor for about an hour and a half from now. She (the assistant) said usually the neck pain is only if they can't touch their chin to their chest...but I can't check for that because he's sound asleep and I'm not waking him up until I HAVE to.

Good luck and you can do it. I just know you can! When in doubt don't eat it. I know easier said than done. But I just have a feeling you want to be around for a very long time to enjoy the company of your dw.

He conked out as soon as we got home from the doctor. Doctor says there are no signs of meningitis right now, but to keep making him touch his chin to his chest, and keep giving him fluids and paracetamol and bring him back if it gets worse. But the kid didn't even want to play on the computer. THAT'S how miserable he feels. That's his favorite thing to do and he would normally jump at the chance. Instead, he just wants to lie down near me, because he doesn't want to be alone.

OK, you would be proud of me Figgy. Instead of picking up a takeout pizza or other fast food, I came home and had another picnic on the porch, except tonight I dined alone (well, two begging dogs joined me) and had some leftover meatloaf, sliced tomatoes and mixed veggies with peas. Pretty good and a lot less calories and carbs than pizza.

Good morning 5 fb miles LS and some sun salutations:joyfull: Seeing it's going to be beautiful again today both groups are going walking. I have some grilled corn left so for lunch I'm making a Tex Mex salad with romaine, corn, tomatoes, scallion, black beans(note to self defrost them now LOL) cilantro and a vinagarette. Dinner will be a veggie burger or maybe 2 sans bun with brown rice, cucumber salad and asparagus.

I don't know about the quiet part. lol:p He snored a lot, and when he wasn't snoring, he was talking in his sleep! He slept for about 7 hours yesterday during the day. He woke up at 10pm just as I was getting home from choir and wanted food. He ate 2 chicken nuggets and told daddy he needed more sleep and could he please go back to bed. Not sure what time he woke up this morning....he didn't come get me, so DH was probably up. But he still didn't want food and his temp was back up to 39.3C (103F). I got him to let me give him more paracetamol now though and he's playing on the computer, so he's a bit better than yesterday, thanks!

Sympathy like. if either of my boys ever ran a fever that high I'd panic and be straight at the hospital. I'm hoping being back on the computer is a good sign and I hope he's all better in time for his trip

I ended up getting in a little exercise yesterday. First, walking to and from the bus stop, which is about a 10 minute walk each way, then I rode my bike to choir and back, which is about 8 minutes each way So I got in about 35 mins of exercise...not much, but better than nothing, and not bad considering I can't leave the house for very long because of the sick munchkin. I walk DD to school and back right now too because there's some mentally ill man who has been hanging around the school and the police have been watching, but they can't be everywhere at once. So while it's not very far, I get that exercise, too.
We're supposed to get dumped on again today, but hopefully no flooding this time.
