working out for Disney

Checking in with a power yoga practice called "strength." My body has been sore since Sunday! I felt like I was moving through molasses and not really fluid moving. At one point, it felt like I tore a muscle in my back. This is why I should never stop yoga! LOL The first week is always hell for me. :(:hilarious:

I have also been going for walks or runs, depending how I feel. One of my other goals for the week was to hit 10K steps on my Fitbit. So far, so good.

Oh yea! This thread is back. Well, I lost a lot of weight over the summer, but I need to lose more.:grumpy: Unfortunately for the moment, that's not exactly easy since I'm injured. Basically, what I can do is WALK! Which actually, I enjoy because I put on my music and zone out. Given college life, it's really necessary to have time to just zone out.

Went for a 20 minute walk today. The weather wasn't great over the weekend, so today was the first day in a while that I've been able to do it. Only 20 minutes because that was all I had time for. Walked around campus, which includes hills and stairs, so it was still a good workout, but I just wish it could have been longer since the weather was gorgeous. Hopefully on Thursday I'll have time for a longer walk, though I might just go for a 30 minute walk tomorrow (on the street). Normally I sleep in on Wednesdays, but I'll probably be up around 8 tomorrow. We're getting the roof replaced; apparently, it's not quiet (though I can sleep through basically anything...). Maybe get up, watch TV, then go for a walk, then study before going to class in the afternoon.

So far, I've lost 5 pounds since my doctor's appointment, so hopefully, I can keep it up.

When it gets too cold for walking outside, here is a good You Tube channel with walking workouts, but she also has other types of workouts, too.

I'm going back into my rut today but that's a good thing. Leslie Sansone's 5 advanced miles. It's my fall back workout mile one walking with hand weight, mile 2 fast walking with 2 jogging segments mile 3 walking with a belt with stretch cords mile 4 fast walking and mile 5 fast walk with a stretch band. It's going to be beautiful today so instead of going out for coffee with my friends we're going for a walk. Not so much for the exercise but to get out and see the changing leaves. Breakfast quinoa and berries, I have a bunch of veggies and I'm going to be honest I'm not sure what's going in my spicy orange sauce and what's going in my salad. I know winging it isn't the smartest but......... that's the mood I'm currently in

Another work day and raining to boot so some cross trainer tonight.Dinner will be sausage and beansprouts followed by Jelly and cream.
Long live my rock and roll lifestyle

Do you eat Paleo?

Againstallgrain.com is a really good website for Paleo recipes. (I'm not affiliated with it, I just have one of the cookbooks and use the site for meal planning occasionally)

Good morning I did manage to find a nice short yin practice and it was just what I needed last night. I went right to sleep after finishing it.:joyfull: Today I got up and put on the X Box and did some Zumba Rush anybody who say it's only a video game is sadly mistaken as I'm dripping. I wish I had a video of me and my 6 left feet doing it, at least I try. Seeing it's nice I'm heading out for a walk around my lake as soon as the bus leaves, one of my friends is going with me:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I'm hoping to fit in a practice today but I'm not sure I'll be able to find the time as I'm going to paint my boy's bathroom today. Leftover quinoa and berries for breakfast and dinner is going to be loaded sweet potato soup and salad.

Sorry to hear about the tear. Be careful you have 9 months before your trip so you have time to get in the groove. Cardio jam is really ambitious so be careful and of course you are welcome the more the healthier LOL
I love the Cardio Party workout. I do low impact, though because of my joints, so I modify a few of the things like the lunges. 9 months SOUNDS like such a long time in the abstract, but I know it's going to fly by. Do any of you do a walking regimen to get ready for Disney?

I have Turbo Jam, too! Have you ever tried Turbo Fire? I like the TJ workouts, but I hate the music. There is also too much whooping and hollering and camera mugging. LOL But, I do pull them out when I want to drop a few pounds quickly.
I need to drop more than "a few" pounds, unfortunately. I'm trying not to eat as many carbs, which are a weakness for me, and limit my sugar...I have a sweet tooth. I looked at Turbo fire, but it looks a bit intense for me. I have bad joints, so a lot of stuff I need to be very careful with. My best friend sent me the Turbo Jam DVD and it has a 20 minute workout that I do when I'm low on time, and otherwise I do the Cardio Party workout. There's also an Ab jam and something like Kicks and punches something, but I will have to be in much better shape before I can try those. The friend who sent it said she has to have the music pumped because she can't stand how perky Shalene is, but I need to be able to hear the whoops of encouragement...it keeps me going.
