working out for Disney

Sugar numbers are still too high, but it is because I am not disciplined enough when it comes to eating sweats, breads, potatoes etc, and have not been exercising enough. This is my fault and correctable, just have to get in the right mind set and stick to it. Thanks for checking and a special thank you for your always positive encouragement.
That sounds like me! My blood sugar is fine so far, but I have a real weakness for breads and sweets. My hubby and I are both trying to cut down the carbs. Some things we've done is stir fry veggies instead of spaghetti noodles. We eat the sauce over the veggies. I still do a few noodles and eat my veggies on the side, but my plate is more full with veg than with pasta. Hubby eats his sauce over the veg. My mom did spaghetti squash instead of pasta, but I have yet to find spaghetti squash here, so I can't do that. I'll have to look at the market on Tuesday. But dh and I both love veggies...I don't know how you feel about them? Would that be an option for you?

A good winters meal for us is Shepherds pie with mashed cauliflower replacing the potato on top.Add a bit (or a lot) of butter for a nicer texture to the "mash"

Checking in with a power yoga practice called "strength." My body has been sore since Sunday! I felt like I was moving through molasses and not really fluid moving. At one point, it felt like I tore a muscle in my back. This is why I should never stop yoga! LOL The first week is always hell for me. :(:hilarious:

I have also been going for walks or runs, depending how I feel. One of my other goals for the week was to hit 10K steps on my Fitbit. So far, so good.
I hear a lot about Fitbit, but I'm a tech squib. What IS a fit bit? Is it like a high end step counter?

Do you eat Paleo?

Againstallgrain.com is a really good website for Paleo recipes. (I'm not affiliated with it, I just have one of the cookbooks and use the site for meal planning occasionally)
One of my friends does zero carbs (I couldn't do it!) and one of the things she makes that is really great is meatza pizza. She slices a chicken breast into 3 slices and bakes them to use as crust. Then she blends tomatoes, parmesan cheese (I think), bacon and herbs to make sauce and then she piles on things like pepperoni, cheese, peppers, etc....basically anything that doesn't have carbs. She said she allows herself as much fat as she wants, just no carbs and she's lost over 100 lbs, so apparently what she's doing works for her.

Good morning I did manage to find a nice short yin practice and it was just what I needed last night. I went right to sleep after finishing it.:joyfull: Today I got up and put on the X Box and did some Zumba Rush anybody who say it's only a video game is sadly mistaken as I'm dripping. I wish I had a video of me and my 6 left feet doing it, at least I try. Seeing it's nice I'm heading out for a walk around my lake as soon as the bus leaves, one of my friends is going with me:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I'm hoping to fit in a practice today but I'm not sure I'll be able to find the time as I'm going to paint my boy's bathroom today. Leftover quinoa and berries for breakfast and dinner is going to be loaded sweet potato soup and salad.
I wouldn't want a video and my 6 left feet (or right feet) doing any sort of workout! My face turns tomato red, I get really sweaty...it's not a pretty sight. LOL

I love the Cardio Party workout. I do low impact, though because of my joints, so I modify a few of the things like the lunges. 9 months SOUNDS like such a long time in the abstract, but I know it's going to fly by. Do any of you do a walking regimen to get ready for Disney?
I love Leslie Sansone it's aerobics for people with several left feet. I do her 5 mile walks almost everyday before a trip in additional to walking outside in my Disney footwear:joyfull:

Hi, Just to let everyone know. I have a back issue with three ruptured discs. So exercising for me has been difficult. Hubby did research on a recumbent bike. I got it yesterday, and rode for an hour. It's so smooth and not noisy . The best news though, is that my back didn't hurt at all this morning. And my knees don't either. This is better than sliced bread!:) Well, maybe not. But I'm sure encouraged. Doctor always said the key to weight loss and lower sugar numbers is to move. Just so you know, I don't work for a bike manufacturer.:D

@Songbird76 before my last trip I was about where you are now so I know you can get where you want to be by the time you go. It's been almost exactly 2 years since I went vegan and I've maintained my current weight for about a year. My best diet advice is do what works for your body. I tried everything calorie restriction (lost weight and was cranky to say the least) low carb the same thing. Vegan works for me I don't count calories, carbs, fat. That works for me. find the lifestyle change that works for you. That's not to say I don't watch what I eat, I eat what I like that likes me back. Set reasonable goals don't go crazy and be healthy and hydrate. I know you can do it xoxo

@betty rose I'm not a fan of commercial cereals how about some quinoa or old fashioned oatmeal to change things up a bit. do what works for you xoxo
I've never tried quinoa, my sister loves it. I love hot cereal with lots of cinnamon. I bet I could put the quinoa in the crockpot and have it ready for the next day. Do you stove top cook it? Do you use red quinoa or white?

I make up a large batch that way there's always some in the hose as I feed an army (my 2 teenish boys), I either do it on the stove or in my rice cooker and I buy both the red and white in bulk (5 pound bags)

Great ideas, I'll bet the slow cooker will work then. I'm slowly eating less meat, can't stand beef, I do like pork tenderloin, and bacon 1/2 slice once in a while. Mostly I like veggies, has anyone posted any recipes on here? I'm always up for new veggie recipes. No cheese , please. No lactose!:hungover::joyfull:
