working out for Disney

Hello.

I am just getting over the stomach virus. This was nasty. The worst thing about it was the joint and muscle pain. I had muscle spasms and the headache from hell. This all set in after the "fun part" of the stomach virus. I am drinking lots of water and eating simple carbs (I usually don't, but this is all I can handle.)

Hopefully, by tomorrow I will be active again. I was reading your posts and I saw you were talking about food. That's good. I like to get ideas from others. I love almond butter with a granny smith.

Have a good day. :)
Glad you are feeling better! Take it easy working out. You may be still a little weak from your bug. Sorry you got sick! Stomach bugs are awful. Have a good day:)

Sohkappy you are feeling better but don't rush back too fast. Your body must heal and you must be able to fuel yourself before exercising!

So I decided to pop in and finally check out your inspiring thread (and to thank you all for the pixie dust), Figgy. I have to say I am pretty impressed with what you have going on here. This was a really good idea for a thread. It's funny how something like a WDW vacation can motivate people to get in shape, but it truly can. I know this firsthand. You see my wife used our first trip back in 2005 as motivation for us to get in shape and she ended up absolutely killing it before we left and it continued even after we got back. She dropped over 100lbs (me, only about 20 ) and it totally changed her life! :) And it all started because she wanted to look and feel good when we went down to Florida for that first WDW vacation!

Sadly, we slowly got out of our daily regime a couple of years ago and both ended up putting some weight back on. I know for myself, a lot of it was just pure laziness. But without making excuses, it's also been a very stressful year for us on many different fronts. And of course all of this added up to me having a minor heart attack a few weeks ago.

But I am happy to report that I am on the mend and that my recent health scare might have been a nice wake-up call to me, to both of us actually. It has motivated us to get back at it again, only this time, we are going at it more motivated than before. Obviously, my new health concern is going to be the biggest dictator as to what I can and cannot do physically, but we have both been eating SUPER healthy since I checked out of the hospital and I am actually LOVING some of these recipes my wife has been whipping up (and can share them if anyone is interested)! Started walking a half an hour a day on the ole treadmill and am feeling pretty good so far. Will kick it up a notch once the weather warms up and we can take it outside. Gotta love Canada in the winter!!!

Thanks for the invite to check out this wonderful thread and can't wait to read and share more in the coming days! And don't worry...I promise I'll keep all future posts in here shorter than this one! ;)

Welcome Aboard @Mikester71 ! Glad you’re on the mend!
@figmentfan423 you are such an inspiration! Thank you! xoxo
Figgy how far into Jersey are you? SI got no snow but we expect flurries throughout the day.

I woke up this morning feeling COLD! Instead of meditating first I blasted out an hour of power yoga and then sat to meditate for 15 minutes.

Tonight I will go for a restorative class and teach 2 in the late evening. I like Thursdays, I practice with these yogis. Not typical of my teaching style but they are all practiced and I just have to queue the breath.

This morning for breakfast I had a coconut yogurt with pomegranate seeds, shaved carrot, yellow raisins and silvered almonds.

Lunch brings a salad packed with vegan cheese, tomato, cucumber, tofu, black beans, corn and red onion.
Dinner is homemade dhal served over quinoa. I may not be able to resist a piece of Nan bread.
I wish you all a wonderful day! Stay warm and be kind to yourself!

Good morning all! I am getting a late start to my normal day. I had an eye dtr appt which did not go as I hoped it would. Apparently, I have pressure in my eyes, so on to the opthamologist in the next mth or so. Ugh!
Put a damper on the whole day:( But, I am going to bundle up and take my 3.5 mile walk outside in the cold so I can chill and get these frustrations out.
Breakfast was homemade granola and almond milk, lunch (not hungry-don't eat when I am flustered) was forcing 6 reduced fat triscuits down, and dinner is salmon and salads. Don't fuss at me too much @figmentfan423 for not eating right. I have to adjust to my mood! LOL Here's to a much better afternoon and evening! Cheers!
