Why does everyone hate Stitch's Great Escape? I love it, so I don't know why everyone hates it! But, I certainly don't want it to be gutted and turned into something else (like yet ANOTHER pixar project).

I think that people resent the takeover of the cartoon characters. Especially when it means replacing attactions which are well liked.

I know that Alien Encounter wasn't the most popular attraction at WDW, but that's because it was designed to not appeal to everyone, just teenagers and adults.
Maybe its more family friendly in this Stitch incarnation, but many people, myself included believe that that its lost the richness and immersive quality of its predecessor.

Not EVERYONE hates Stitch..... you have to consider those waiting in its 5 minute wait

(sorry.... couldn't resist. :D It's a... cute show... but there are many threads on it. I would suggest a thread search)

Do a thread seach and find many answers to the same question in a similar topic

I don't hate stitch, he's actualy one of my favorite characters. My problem with Stitch's great escape is that it had a lot of potential... but it they really didn't do much with it. It is chock full of continuity errors. He refers to himself as stitch which he should be saying experiment 626. I feel that the attraction is to silly. and not enough of what it could be. The only good parts about it are the awsome animatronics in the preshow and in the show.

Since you asked. I don't like the burped hot dog smell in the attraction. Discusting. Stitch makes mischief cute. There is enough mischief around without glorifying it to children. I feel like he is being pushed down our throats by a mega public relations campaign. He's everywhere. He even took over the wake up call for a while. They ruined a good AE attraction. I'm sure there's more but what's the point.

I don't really HATE it or anything, I just liked Alien Encounter a lot better. I wouldn't wait in line longer than 10 minutes for Stitch's Great Escape.

It is a sad excuse for a Disney attraction and a sad replacement for the attraction that was previously there. I wouldn't mind AE being replaced, if it was replaced by something better.

Not everyone hates it. It's not my favorite attraction, but I dont mind it. I think a lot of people hate it because of what it replaced. Kinda why it may seem that a lot of people hate Pooh, when I've always seen the ride's queue packed :lookaroun

I thought it could have been fixed by having an animatronic Stitch head coming down from the rafters. The dark part tends to drag on without much story (unlike AE). I think it comes off as cheap because so much of it is pitch black and not really going anywhere. By having an animatronic Stitch head peek down from the roof it makes it seem as though more effort was put into it and they didn't take the easy road by having 90% of it in the dark. Imagine seeing his head peak down from the roof and have him popping up around different areas of the room. It'd make the ride seem a lot less... cheap?

What bugs me is that Stitch, like many recent Disney characters but this time even more so, feels like a character that was created in committee. Whittled and finessed and honed based on market research, questionnaires, focus groups until any originality or personality was deader than disco. And futher, everything Stitch-related, story plots, dialogue, dance movies, is further researched and tested...it reminds me of the "Poochy" episode of The Simpsons. But because this degree of micromanagement worked (THIS time!), it seems Disney execs are now sure Stitch will work everywhere. Thus, they're running the character into the ground in general, and they gutted a scary and interesting ride to cater to preschoolers with this awful ride.

I've said this before, but what I find most insulting and ingratiating about SGE is the voices of the kids in your ear who are supposed to be kids JUST LIKE YOURS!!! enjoying the attraction, saying things like "Look, Mom! It's STITCH!" "Tee-hee, he's funny," "He's coooooool." When Disney has to hire child actors to tell you and/or your children that what they're seeing is funny and cool, rest assured, it is neither funny nor cool.

Everyone on these forums say that there are those types of line in the rides, but I've never heard them, even when I was an effort to specifically listen to those lines.

The only thing I've ever heard is "Whoa!," but no line where the kid mentions Stitch's name.

I totally disagree with almost all of that.

I couldn't agree more. I am not a fan of this attraction. But it always seems to be packed. I for one have never seen Lil oand Stitch A friend of mine (keep in mind we are both in our late 20's) loves it and the ride. Simple thing If you don'tlike an attraction then you don't have to ride it...

I've heard the worst one: "This is fun". If Disney has to TELL you the attraction is 'fun', there is a problem.

Stitch's Great Escape is a complete embarrassment of an MK attraction. It’s not only a bad replacement for AE (an original, non-character attraction that fit the theme of the “New Tomorrowland”), but is also terrible by itself. The general public knows this (hence the non-existent or short lines), and Disney knows they created a complete flop (hence the determination to do better with “The Laugh Floor” and future projects).
