Which one of these countries would you like to see added to WS?

Australia, Greece or Russia. I would always eat in the Greek restaurant.

Oh and the builing in Canada is Chateau Frontenac from Quebec City.

If I'm not mistaken; in the 80's there was a sign past Norway, in the bend back there, that had Spain as coming soon.
I believe one of my first posts on this site was asking why more countries weren't added. It's always been disappointing to me that Disney couldn't negotiate to get more countries and at times it seemed World Showcase was stagnant. I can understand not being able to get countries that insist on a political message included.
Australia, Greece, and Egypt all had nice setups at the 1984 World's Fair.

Too bad Disney doesn't consider at least expanding an area that would have at least a restaurant from different countries. I love Greek food! Vietnamese food is good too!

Egypt would be my choice. I could just imagine the ride ideas they could have in the Sphinx.

Yes, they can, but so many other countries had issues that force Disney to cut them from the drawing board or couldn't pay for another country, with budget cuts here & there. (Italy Gondola ride, anyone?) Iran is such a good example. It was almost greenlighted, except the Shah of Iran was overthrown by a rival political party. If Iran was built and stands today, I would still visit & enjoy the beauty of the place, but the majority of the visitors would find it unusual, perhaps repulsive...

I initially voted for Ireland because I thought they could do some fun shows with Irish dancing and a dark ride with leprechauns and Irish legends. And any food made with potatoes is a-ok with me. But, after thinking about it, I might need to reconsider my answer. Greece could be pretty amazing.

Yeah, base the dark ride on Darby O'Gill and the Little People :lol:.

Iran and Iraq have so much history to tell. They would have been beautiful additions to World Showcase.
Almost makes me wish someone could do a type of Fantasy World Showcase; where one could go in and create their own expanded version of World Showcase within the specs of available space....and then have a contest on the best version right here! .............has my wheels turning

Wish I could vote for more than one. I would like to see Ireland attached to England (not here to start a fight) just think that a dark ride on the irish legends and step dancing would be great additions.
Greece would be great. A great way to bring Mythology/Hercules to the parks. Not to mention the Olympic tie-in.

I voted for Australia because I think the possibilities on attractions with an Australian pavilion are many. Second choice - Switzerland and Disneyland's Matterhorn ride.

It's not on the list, but I would love to see Scotland (and don't say they already have England. It's not the same).

Many of the countries mentioned already have some kind of presence, or would fit better somewhere else... For instance, a South American country, Australia and Egypt would be good fits for AK, rather than Epcot. Ireland actually has a pretty good presence at DTD with the two restaurants and a gift shop.

With that being said, I voted for Greece with a close second going to Russia. Greece would leave the door open for a new E-ticket attraction based in mythology for Epcot as well as Greek cuisine and a Hercules meet and greet area. It just sounds like a really good fit for the World Showcase. Russia I think would also work out really well, but it just doesn't scream success nearly as much as Greece, at least to me.

I voted for Egypt. A close second would be Greece. I would like to see Australia in DAK.
