My dog would start trying to rip that off of her the second it is put on.

Ha! This reminds me of my previous dog, a little bit. We had bought her top-of-the-line snow booties, so her feet wouldn't freeze in the ice and snow, and also to keep the road salt from irritating her paws. No sooner did we put them on her, when she had a complete meltdown--and started to kick her legs to try and knock them off. She even tried biting them off. We finally had to give up . . . dog won. (Dogs usually win . . . :hilarious: )

I was born in Chicago and lived there the first few years of my life and we moved to a very nice suburb where my folks are still at. I moved quite a bit in my 20s and then landed here in my little Hamlet. Yes places like ours still exist but boy the way of life takes some getting use to. It was a great place to raise a family, the best schools but it is also difficult. As small and quaint as it is, it is small, every kid knows every kid which isn't always a good thing, my kids had the same kids in their class for 9 years. Talk about clicks. Government tends to be dominated by people who have been her for many generations, they never leave. When my son was in college I generally tell the Sheriff two doors down I was leaving, that way when my DS had parties he would know to come down and tell them all to shut up when it got too loud. We are not always about serenity but we have 125 year old builds and a church that is much older. We have original homes that are almost 200 years old that have been fully restored and on some roads closer to our one block uptown there are still tie downs for residents horses of yesteryear. Some of it is quite charming and other times you just want to scream.

How true. It looked like almost utopia. But your final comment brought me back to reality. Reminds me of an old saying, "The grass is always greener in the other fellow's yard." ;)

call a caterer

That's not a half-bad idea. I was thinking somewhat along those lines, but at 50%. I don't know about the grocery stores in Canada, but the ones near where I live, will prepare carry-out pans of vegetables for small to large groups, and will also cook a roast, or a turkey, if you want them to. What many people do is cook the turkey or roast, in their own oven at home, and then just pick up the trays of cooked veggies, gravy, cornbread or rolls, etc. at the market, and just heat them up at home. Believe me, no one will know that you didn't do all that cooking yourself! (Works for me . . . :p )

26 days until Halloween! :) (Yes, it's Pokemon, my daughter picked it out. :geek:)

I've liked all the Halloween pix you've posted, but I think this is just about my favorite. The reason has something to do with the dark, background colors, and spooky images (I didn't realize they were from Pokemon). It's a great picture, and I think it's really cool that it was your daughter who made this selection for all of us to enjoy!

Ha! She is giving you that special look of disapproval and broken trust. Does she get cold outside? I've never owned a dog that needed a coat.

She gets cold outside and inside the house. Inside, she tries to snuggle up against me, which makes the cat jealous, and next thing I know Im flanked by two snoring animals and if I move, I get whacked with a paw or growled at. Daisy is used to having a sweater on, it's my way of saying "back off" and she gets it.

There's a time for snuggling, but it's not all the time, every waking second.

Edit,

Good lord autocorrect, really?

Poor you. :( I was a gymnast many decades ago. There are exercises you can do to strengthen those ankles of yours. Shoes make or break if a dress rocks or not. :p
I have darn sexy leg though,I have never had to exercise like heavy people, can you show me those exercises being petitely built as I am

Cats too. My cat would have torn up that outfit before even putting it on her. We can't even get her to wear a collar. We tried. In the first week we got her, she got that collar off. She doesn't go outside, but we've been considering getting her microchipped.

WOO-HOO!!!! We just broke out the record (yes, 45rpm vinyl) of Orioles Magic which I have kept since I got it in 1980 and are trying to get the record player working for the first time in a few years (yes, I pulled it up on youtube in the meantime).
Haha...I keep meaning to get a new record for our player on Amazon.

Don't ya just love how Showalter never looks happy? He just always has this straight face. I love his response to winning the ALDS: "It wasn't all me." Such an instrumental part of this teaM, though.

Ha, You're not likely to ever find a heavy gymnast, we are petite and most are vertically challenged like me.
But your sexy leg, rock' that pretty red dress will be elongated nicely rock'n a pair of classic stilettos. :) Ya never see a model walking the runway in a pair of flats.
