I took the test about where do you think you live in the U.S. As usual, some of the questions just don't apply, like the one about which team I hated. I don't watch those types of sports. Oh well, here's what I got, regardless:

You got: New England
You’re a go-getter, motivated, and probably one tough cookie. Yeah, the winters may be cold, but so is the Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee. Not many people can say it, but you are a New Englander through and through.

(I don't identify with a 'go-getter' trait; I'm more laid back than that. Don't like iced coffee, either.) Who creates all these nutty quizzes??

And Trump opens his mouth again:

“Stop the EBOLA patients from entering the U.S. Treat them, at the highest level, over there. THE UNITED STATES HAS ENOUGH PROBLEMS!” Trump tweets. The all-CAPS are for added drama.

These people, as regrettable as it is that they got sick, traveled to Africa because they wanted to. In other words, getting the virus is all on them so the other Americans, who don’t have the choice to flee the country in case of an outbreak, should not have to pay for their choice.

The real irony here is that the virus has an incubation period, before symptoms present. What "toupee man" doesn't seem to realize, is that there's not just 2 people with the virus coming here. There may be others who have already flown here recently (and to other countries as well) that could also be infected—but neither they, nor anyone else, even realizes that possibility yet. We're living in a fast-paced, global world nowadays. The hospital where I work has recently posted internal guidelines and protocols concerning the virus.

Anyone else look at that photo of the virus itself and think "hidden Mickey"? Meg must be behind this.

Yep, he is a twerp. Good to know there are protocols in place. Everything in emergency preparedness is 'practiced' drilled so much now I would expect the medical field to be right in step with National Security. Apparently we have a man with drug resistant TB that was under house confinement that is wandering about that they couldn't find.

You should watch my DD and me, true germaphobics. We have the pivot and change direction choreographed down to a science. Cough or hack and we change course. She learned to breath through her coat in classes and on the buses at her University too. We were in-sync throughout Disney World. A few times last trip we did use maps for placemats too.

I was in Charlotte all weekend. I bet I missed a ton of fun around here.
I announced at a horse show on Saturday and spent Sunday tearing the rotted floor off the manure spreader and cutting new boards. I even cut them to overlap and now all I have left to do is glue them together and bolt them down. So I didn't get into the conversation much either...

Years before I even heard of the WDW Magic site, I bought a tour book (might have been the Unofficial Guide), and I saw a reference to Tikiman's web site. I checked it out and was very impressed. He had great inside information about the longhouses, restaurants, shops, pools, activities, etc., and had some nice pictures for reference as well. He seems very gracious in how he presents himself and his site. I like it when he posts on the WDW Magic site, too. :)

Anyway, a few years later, I scraped up some money to stay for 3 nights. Because I knew a lot about the Polynesian from reading his web site, I figured when I checked in, I might ask if certain longhouses were available. Got to the check-in desk, and the woman put a lei around my neck and said, "Welcome. We have upgraded your reservation to Hawaii!" I was thrilled—Hawaii is the concierge longhouse, and I had a beautiful view of the 7 Seas Lagoon (and water pageant!!). Of course, this was years BEFORE the ticky tacky DVC "bungalows" that have demolished the view now. Thank God I got to experience the resort, as it was meant to be—in all its glory, years ago.

How fun, lucky you. I loved the Poly. I'm doubting I will like it as much as the original. I understand the CH needed major work but I would have been happier if they leveled the darn place and rebuilt it the same way, only fixing the things like the volcano pool that keeps sinking and then add a whirlpool, it should have one. A replica of what is there would have been acceptable. Ruining the shoreline view, will likely push many guests to other Deluxe resorts. Most DVC owners won't be able to afford the points to vacation in those bungalows that went vertical when I was down there. To ruin the view for so many for the few units there will be, don't get it.

Yeah he Tikiman has lots of info and he seems to have good sources. What I grasp vs some of these folks don't is just because it is a 100% doesn't mean some Disney figure head isn't going to pull or put off a project at the last minute. Imagination was to go down right after the 1st of the year, it didn't. CMs had new schedules that were revised when the project was pulled. It happens often.

Me either, I was out of town a few days.

That is how my ceilings and a wall are in my home, overlapped, grooved but I don't believe glued. It was a long freak'n process and it is all on a diagonal. Each board was stained and poly'd and then put up piece by piece.

That sounds like it was a true labor of love, but I bet it looks amazing!!! I'm only gluing them because it sits outside all year long and I want to try and limit warping. I still haven't decided what type of sealer to use...
