Years before I even heard of the WDW Magic site, I bought a tour book (might have been the Unofficial Guide), and I saw a reference to Tikiman's web site. I checked it out and was very impressed. He had great inside information about the longhouses, restaurants, shops, pools, activities, etc., and had some nice pictures for reference as well. He seems very gracious in how he presents himself and his site. I like it when he posts on the WDW Magic site, too.

Anyway, a few years later, I scraped up some money to stay for 3 nights. Because I knew a lot about the Polynesian from reading his web site, I figured when I checked in, I might ask if certain longhouses were available. Got to the check-in desk, and the woman put a lei around my neck and said, "Welcome. We have upgraded your reservation to Hawaii!" I was thrilled—Hawaii is the concierge longhouse, and I had a beautiful view of the 7 Seas Lagoon (and water pageant!!). Of course, this was years BEFORE the ticky tacky DVC "bungalows" that have demolished the view now. Thank God I got to experience the resort, as it was meant to be—in all its glory, years ago.
