The worst part about not living on campus is not meeting new people. The friends I hang out with are the same ones I had in high school. I can't imagine not living on campus and commuting from a different town. At least in my case I have several friends who are doing the same thing I'm doing.

EDIT- I just realized I kind of made it sound like I don't like hanging out with my friends from high school, which is not the case.

Yeah, that is part of my argument for going away to school. Tough calls.

No, she lives with my aunt (her daughter). I guess she's been in bed all day because she hasn't felt that great.

My dad called and said the doctor talked to them, but he doesn't have a definitive answer yet, but one test came back and it suggests that she could have had a heart attack, but they don't have a cardiologist on hand, so they might have to transfer her to a different hospital about 30 minutes away.

It's likely going to be a while before anything else is found out, so I'm going to go to sleep here in a minute.

Well I can't 'like' that post. Prayers coming her way.

I don't live on campus and have very few friends on campus, so I avoid the nonsense.

Neither did I, but still had plenty of drama in college..
from forced "work in groups" and end with lazy guys.
to teachers that never had a real class in the entire year.. to even flooding of the college main building.

Or perhaps point it in the direction of something that is interesting? Just a thought, I have never seen what has been submitted.
Eeeh, no.
Push mentioned that his phone had blurry pictures. Hence why my recommendation to upgrade.

It's hard to compete when there are so many professional photographers on here, but a lot of them just post on the various photo-of-the-day threads now. The contests used to be a lot more competitive when I first joined here.
Agree, but still. It seems not many people are participating.
Kinda hard to have always good photos available.
Me for example.. only got like.. 75 photos of my visit to WDW.. and 90% of them are instantly not related to something usable for the contests.

Oh I disagree. There is nothing worse than mean middle school girls that drag that same attitude into high school.
College is a game changer. Everyone leaves high school and goes their separate ways. The mean girls find themselves out in the cold when no one knows their name. Boys were easier. They punch one another and move on except if they are one of the top athletes. That is a whole different type of head-cases.
must be a cultural thing, because in my college.. they got worse.. (maybe because it was a public (yet supposed best college in my area) and thus every level of $$$ and education could get in)
specially the girls.. seriously.. "groupie" girls were bad at high school.. but they convert into insane evil people in college( of the type you see in the American movies)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I'm thinking someone should give you a bunch of flowers today!
Instead, I'll get a bunch of grief.
He's already kicking up a fuss about having to work on his birthday.

I know I complain about them (because they really are awful children right now), but I do love them with my whole heart.

And everyday, I know we are one step closer to things getting better.
Or to both of them moving out.
Whichever.

I would have more to contribute if I didn't take all my pics from 2012 on a Blackberry. The shots looked good on my old computer, but on my new one they look lousy. And I didn't take that many of MK in 2013 when I had a better camera just because I wasn't in the mood with the way those days there were going.

That is a description of the worlds population, not just a college description.

How large was the college? My DD met some amazing people from those raised on farms to new friends from Chile, China and Korea. She picked her friends wisely. Yeah there are sororities and fraternities but neither of my kids went that route, though some do, my Sis did and she was as Preppy as they come so it isn't always awful gals.

Her school was tops in Public University in the state and is ranked up there educationally in the Country. The overwhelming majority of students are a classy bunch of students that knew how to party all the while knowing how to settle in and study. They are always ranked in the top five party schools and yet they maintain their educational standard. I guess what impresses me is the students are intelligent enough to know there is a time for fun and a time to learn and they grasp that.

Well, there is a huge difference in being forced to work in the same project and working in the same company.
example.. you can work retail and still your score, job and reputation is solely based on what you do and what you pull.
in a forced "group project".. the hardworking will always be pulling the lazy Bas****.

good thing I was smart and I documented all the lazyness of my co-team.
Me and other hardworking gal ended getting our high score.. the lazy ones got 0.

It was hilarious to watch them complain to the teacher first and then to their mommies about how they did nothing yet it was unfair to get a 0!.

my Uni does not have that much variation (sources country wise.. aka 99% are mexican-born, so having people from other countries is very rare).
Note that universities that do these type of transfers between nations.. are usually in big cities like Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara.

As for size:
You could say it is large.. around 7,000 students at same time in a medium sized campus. (9 long 2 floor towers with around 25 studying halls per floor), plus the investigation towers and computer labs.

Also.. fraternities are a rarity, they have null presence in most universities.. only the "pooch hipster rich" Universities in the main cities, do have similar clubs. (aka rich kid clubs)

Ahh that Love - Hate tug, some powerful emotions that collide.

Maybe you can sleep through the morning drama and pawn them off on hubby? Wishful thinking.

No, but I did get to ride one of those electric scooters last week. Some lady's was dying, so I had to bring her a new one, and they don't really move well without the power, so I couldn't just roll it to her.

Did you put it in neutral or just try to PUSH?

I don't know who Sugar is... but I'm going to assume it's a player. :p

My favorite player so far is Spencer, and I think it's going to take a lot to change that. And then Brenda from Caramoan: Fans vs Favorites (among other seasons that I haven't seen). :inlove:

My top 5 is probably: Boson Rob. Every season he played. Ozzy is up there too. And JT. Amanda. Russel - first season he played.

Getting to ready to go for our evening walk, and Hubby wants me to see the first 10 minutes of Bad Grandpa.

He is laughing so hard, tears are running down his cheeks.
I am rolling my eyes so hard, I'm giving myself a headache.

And that my friends, is the difference between men and women.

Off for our walk, back in an hour and a bit.

Hubby watched this on our flight to Vegas. He was snorting with laughter. I watched Frozen.

And we're back. 1.1 km vs our usual 6.5 km.

Once it starts spitting, I call "Uncle".

Anyone know how many miles this is?
