So true...Texas is like two different states pushed together. East Texas and Texas. Two totally different flora /fauna and terrains.

This state has so many diverse environments it's actually pretty crazy. A lot like California.
several 8,000 ft.+ mountain peaks and dessert in west Texas, high plains and flat as a pancake farmland up towards the panhandle, although, there is also Palo Duro Canyon up near Amarillo. The piney woods of east Texas, hundreds of sq. miles of gorgeous hill country in central Texas, more fertile farmland between there and the coast, and hundreds of miles of coastal shoreline and beaches.
To quote an ad campaign from our travel and tourism dept. (or whatever it's called)...
"Texas. It's like a whole other country."

There. I hope my ckeck's in the mail. ;)

Wisconsin is different from anywhere else, too. Our "soil" is actually cheese, and our lakes are made out of beer, while the rivers are milk.
