whats your trigger

For me it's the ride on the "Pseudo-rail" at MCO. It's not really a monorail per se, just a bunch of linked-up busses on an elevated road, but it is still so vastly different from everyday travel that it lets me know that I've arrived. That and the whole "Welcome to Central Florida..." spiel they play on it. "Whether your visiting one of our many attractions or returning home..." I love that.

To me, the magic truly begins once Im on board the train at the Magic Kingdom and hear the conductor say "All Aboard"...and the toot of the train....its only then I can kick back and realize that I've arrived....

Everything sinks in once I reach the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, whichever we go to first. Once I'm close enough to hear the background music loops playing, then I know that I'm finally home.

Once I enter the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, and as I begin to walk through them, especially Main Street USA, I get very emotional just by looking around and seeing the sights and smelling the delicious smells. The music definitely helps too, mostly because I can hum all of the background music playing in the parks.

For me the trigger is passing through the gates. It is like a boundary or airlock into WDW and I know that we won't be going outside it for the week. We never leave "the magic". So it is more like the experience of passing into a foreign country....crossing the border....kinda of a feeling of "we made it, it is really going to happen, we're back!"

Me too! I know that for my time in WDW the outside world does not exist. I am a guest.:D

We always stay at Wilderness Lodge. For me, it's riding in the boats, making that turn towards MK. Space Mountain and the Castle come into view... gets me every time.

For me, it's the first "icon" that you can see in the distance from the road as you're arriving on Disney property... which is usually Spaceship Earth or the castle.
Man, just thinking about it gives me goosebumps! :sohappy: 29 more days! WOOHOO!

Before my most recent trip this January, I would've had a hard time picking out one trigger. This trip, DW and I deplaned in the back and so we were walking out on the runway. Stepping right outside in that Florida sun and seeing the palm trees all around me... after coming from freezing cold snow... I'm in Disney right then! (Especially with DME!)

Would have to say the Mickey Mouse fountain at Downtown Disney. First place I went to when I first came to Orlando. Everytime I come back I pitch my penny and make my wish. Brings back happy memories.:)

There are a couple of triggers. Getting on the terminal Monorail at MCO. Haven't come across one at any other airport I've been to.

Stepping into the lobby of our resort, which ever one it is, and getting immediately immersed in the theming.

"The Voice" on the monorail. Please stand clear of the door!

Hey sring,

I agree 100% I live just north of philly, and if you ever see an orange Dodge Caliber driving around, and you hear the entire monorail loop coming from it....it is me. My dad found it on the internet somewhere, and I keep it on CD in my car. I love some of the looks I get from other people when I have my window open!

83 DAYS TO GO!!!!!

You're a bit west of me Rogue, I'm in Eastern Montco. I had gotten it as a wav a number of years ago and made it my pc's start-up sound. Unfortunately I lost it when the computer died.

90 days to go here.

Rachelle - Walking down Main Street USA and seeing the castle at the end.

Tom - That rusty, old water smell of Splash Mountain. There honestly isn't anything like that in the whole world. Orrrrrrrrrr... when I get my fast pass to Rockin Rollercoaster and hop on Tower of Tower. Is there any other way to do these rides??

i think gettinginto thehotel room and lookin at the same type of rooms we go 2 every year gets me a little excited because i no that not far away is the magic kingdom. checkin in gets me excited because while my parents are handling the business part imusually checkin out the disney store in All star Sports resort! but i kno im there when im walkin thru the dark halls of space mountain thats when i no its for sure not a dream =)
