I would have to agree with the castle. Oh, what a feeling. Of course, just arriving on the property is pretty thrilling also. Especially after a 16 hour drive. Just seeing the signs for WDW and pulling thru the big arches heading onto the grounds. Can't wait, but way too long. June 07!

To our family, I think it's driving thru the purple WDW archways.

And of course when my DD's eyes light up the first time she see's a princess.

(that one even brings tears to my eyes, to think about!)

Walking through the tunnel onto Main St. USA! Unless we're staying at the WL. Then it's walking through the huge doors into the soaring lobby with the cool music.

Hey Tiggerzgirl83,

I'm at 84 days see ya there! HaHa.

My trigger is the room. Port Orleans Riverside. Once we are in, drop off any bags and jog to the first bus to MK!

Each Park trigger....

MK - First ride on The Pirates of the Caribbean
EP - Rio De Tiempo
MGM - ToT
AK - The Stroller Station (Yes I am serious)

For me the trigger is passing through the gates. It is like a boundary or airlock into WDW and I know that we won't be going outside it for the week. We never leave "the magic". So it is more like the experience of passing into a foreign country....crossing the border....kinda of a feeling of "we made it, it is really going to happen, we're back!"

It's been quite some time for me -- a lot of things in the parks have come and gone or been modified.

But I do remember my last time, in August 1993, the "trigger" as you say was leaving Port Orleans (yes, before the change) and taking the bus over to EPCOT Center (yes, before the change), and looking out the bus window and seeing Spaceship Earth so perfect and so huge (sans wand, yes, before the change) as the bus makes its way off the Disney interstate and to the access road to the parking lot.

Then, right then, I knew my vacation had started. I believe me and my friend's first rides were SSE, then The Land to see Kitcken Kabaret (yes, before the change) and Listen to the Land (yes, before the change) and then to Journey Into Your Imagination to catch Dreamfinder and Figment and Captain EO (yes, before the change).

Hmmm, have to get back to WDW to see what changes were made. But since I have been gone so long from Orlando, I believe I will start next time at Magic Kingdom, because after being away for so long I have to re-start my experience and experience everything that is new. There are many things -- many things -- I need to experience for the first time at WDW. Believe me, Tower of Terror was being constructed in the new wing at MGM, so I have a lot fo catching up to do!

When? Sometime soon, hopefully in the next year. It's been way too long.

Seeing Main Street and the Castle, smelling the Confectionary -- does it for me everytime. Oh and that first viewing of Illuminations, always on our first night at WDW. Its also the last show we see before leaving WDW too. It chokes me up everytime I watch it. :)
