Trip Report What's going on with my clothes??

The title.

It's what I've been having the hardest time with for the last week or so. I'm not totally sold on it but I must say that it did make for a lot of laughs(at my expense of course). When I think about how much energy I've channeled to coming up with something, especially when that energy could have been put to better use( like at work or something), I decided to stick with this & move forward. Otherwise, this TR would never get started. Anyways, welcome to my very first trip report!! I'm happy with myself for finally doing one & I'm more than excited to relive our adventures & share them with you fine people!!
So, let me start by getting the introductions out of the way......

WHEN: June 18th-25th *C,D,E & A's plans were a little different than ours. They were there 6/21-7/7*

As we were getting ready for dinner J was a bit bummed out. Here's when we knew he was super serious about his crush on @TrolleyFollower91. I'm so glad E caught this on video!! Em--didn't I say you played a big role in this TR?

So, is it safe to say that J is moving to Georgia to go to school?

I must say that I think it is funny that for the most part he kept his head turned away from E. I think he was embarrassed to break the news to his mom!! Also, you notice he keeps pulling on something that is sitting on the bed? Meet "moonie". "Moonie" is what he holds onto when he's tired or nervous. It's actually a sleep sack with a moon & stars embroidered on it. He pulls on the moons threads when he's nervous.

@TrolleyFollower91 I sure hope he gets to see you again. I know it would be a dream come true for him!!

That's the sweetest! He's so cute!

Omg, that video of J was so cute, yet funny! I think all boys at that age end up having a serious crush on a girl that's way too old. I know I did. :hilarious:
I agree it's cute & funny. It will be funny to show it to him years down the road!!
J can come to Georgia and be in my class anytime!!
I'm going to tell him you said that & I'll let you know his response!!
J is so stinking cute!! @TrolleyFollower91 is one lucky girl ;)
Thank you!! Haha--that's too funny!!
The Yachtsman is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW. Hubby and I ate there a couple weeks ago and I have loved the truffle mac and cheese in the past but it was a huge let down this time. It wasn't very cheesy or truffle-y. I thought maybe it was an off night but perhaps not.
In that case maybe it's not me then. I kept telling R & E that we had to try it b/c I've read so much about how good it is. Again, it was good but it definitely did not stand out to me like something I would feel the need to order again. Now those mushrooms on the other hand....
Everything else was great though & I would not hesitate to go back there again.
That's the sweetest! He's so cute!
Thank you!!
Your Yachtsman meal looked amazing! I can't wait to try it one day.
And I'm always impressed when I see a kiddo eating a dish like the one J had!
I dream of the day I can get my son to eat something other than a sandwich! :joyfull:
I'm really enjoying your report!
It was excellent. I just can't believe I waited so long to try it. R's taking full credit for that one. Someone told him that he would love it there & we should really try it. He kept patting himself on the back like he came up with it all on his own.
E & her husband are very healthy eaters so I guess they instilled that in J when he was very young. He actually chose the salmon!! E reads him what's on the menu & he picks what he wants. I've seen him pick fruit many times for dessert. I wish I ate half as healthy as him....
Thank you--I'm glad you're enjoying it!!

One last picture from the Beach Club.
IMG_3002.jpg

We decided to walk back to the Yacht Club & get our Minnie van from there.
IMG_3003.jpg

I must say I was quite impressed with how clean the car seats were in the Minnie vans. I'm sure they are used quite often & I'm sure they are cleaned a lot but they looked like they were brand new!!
IMG_3004.jpg

Why can't all street/highway signs have Disney's color scheme?
IMG_3005.jpg

When our driver saw me trying to take a picture he slowed down so I could get a better one.
IMG_3007.jpg

We went back to our rooms so R & E could drop off their packages then we headed down to The River Roost.

I could sit & stare at this forever!!
IMG_3008.jpg

Shortly after we got there we got a call that D,C,E & A were at Disney Springs. They wanted to come down if we planned on being there for awhile.(They were staying at their timeshare that week then were staying at POR for their second week.)
Sadly, for whatever reason I took next to no pictures that evening. The gentleman that was filling in for YeHaa Bob the night before wasn't there. There was someone else filling in. He was fine but the guy the night before was better. We all sat around & had a few drinks.
E(niece), wanted the Loaded Potato Puffs so we got an order of those to share. I was glad she wanted to get them b/c I had really been craving them but I knew that I could only eat a few.
IMG_3009.jpg

I know at some point E(sister), took J & A to Fulton's and they came back with that big bag of chips.
And I don't know what it was I was drinking.
Note to self--take better notes for your next trip report.
IMG_3010.jpg

It looks like I caught R by surprise!!
IMG_3011.jpg

D & R hanging out!!
IMG_3012.jpg

We headed back around 10:30 or so. We had plans to meet them the next evening for dinner!!

How did I not know these existed?!?
They are amazing!! There's not much to them but they are so good.
Pulled pork, cheese & pico de gallo. They can get kind of messy though!!
On another note they have a Hummingbird cake there that is great too. It's $14.00 for one piece but it is huge. A few trips ago E, J & myself shared it & we still couldn't finish it.

FRIDAY, JUNE 22ND

I started my day out with another walk/jog around Riverside. This morning would be a little different than the rest. No stopping at The Riverside Mill today, we had a breakfast ADR to get to. R still wanted to go so he could have his daily banana but I assured him that he could get one at breakfast. You know where this is going, right?

Since we weren't stopping at The Riverside Mill we headed to the bus stop that was closest to our rooms.
IMG_3016.jpg

IMG_3017.jpg

No sooner did we get there an AK bus was pulling in.

IMG_3021.jpg

I was so excited to see Divine again!! I think she is so cool.
IMG_3023.jpg

IMG_3024.jpg

No one in my group wanted to get their picture taken with her so I got one on my own.
IMG_3025.jpg

Moonie joined us for the picture which only means one thing--J's tired!
IMG_3595.jpg

The photographer originally asked J to do what R is doing. J wasn't having it and walked away!! He was definitely tired!!

I wonder how many pictures I actually have of this tree??
IMG_3028.jpg

AK has so many great details!!
IMG_3029.jpg

We cut through Pandora on our way to breakfast.
IMG_3030.jpg

R irritated b/c I asked him to stop for a picture.(Or maybe b/c he hadn't had his banana yet.)
IMG_3031.jpg

IMG_3032.jpg

We've arrived!! Africa is my favorite area in AK! I just love the vibe that it has.

Cute books that they were giving out at the hostess stand for the kids.

That's pretty awesome! It just may be worth moving to Georgia to have @TrolleyFollower91 be his teacher.

As soon as we were seated J said he had to go to the bathroom. He & E headed there quickly--we wouldn't want history to repeat itself now would we! The characters started coming right away & he missed Donald.
IMG_3038.jpg

Originally Donald waved to us & kept going. I right away felt that it's b/c we're 2 adults. When I asked him if we could get a picture he did stop so that's all that counts.

J made it back in time for Goofy.

FRIDAY, JUNE 22ND(CONT.)

Even though I'm not a breakfast person I have always enjoyed it at Tusker House. I'd take their breakfast over their lunch/dinner any day.
My biggest issue is that it's hard for me to eat a lot b/c I'm not used to eating that early.

The Black Eyed Pea Salad was excellent!!
IMG_3050.jpg

My favorite food at Tusker House--tater tots!! I know you're probably thinking "It's a tater tot. How special can it be?" Let me tell you, these are the best tater tots I have ever had in my whole life!! They are so crispy. They are never dry & I eat them plain(I don't eat ketchup). They are consistently good every time I eat there. I can't put into words how good these things are!!
IMG_3051.jpg

My first plate.
IMG_3052.jpg

My second plate.
IMG_3054.jpg

I'm sure I had more tater tots than that on my plates. I probably ate some on my way back from the buffet!!

Daisy finally came around!!
IMG_3056.jpg

IMG_3057.jpg

Donald came back around so J got to see him.
IMG_3058.jpg

R realized pretty quickly that there were no bananas at the buffet:oops:. I could have swore I saw them there before. He loved the POG juice & still talks about it to this day so hopefully it made up for not having his daily banana.

IMG_3059.jpg

Another great meal at Tusker House!!
IMG_3060.jpg

We had some time to kill before our FP so we wandered around Zuri's Sweet Shop for a bit. The treats always look & smell so good in there!

Love the magic shot of Pascal on R’s hat! Wish we’d gotten that one! We had dinner at Tusker House and the same thing happened to us with the characters. We’d barely sat down before Donald came and he was quickly followed by everyone but Daisy. I think half of us were at the buffet when she entered the room but everyone made it back before she got to our table. I just realized we were seated in the same room! It was our first time there and we all enjoyed it! Sorry R didn’t get his banana though!

I was happy to get that magic shot. That was a new one for us. I've never had characters come out that fast. In a way it was kind of nice. It can be a pain if they come around when you're eating, then you're fumbling for the camera/autograph book etc. with plates of food all around you. I've sat in that room a few times. I like that one b/c it's smaller & doesn't seem as crowded as the other ones.

He survived not eating a banana that day. The reason he eats one every day is for potassium intake. I told him there's that fruit stand near Kilimanjaro Safaris & I was sure they had them there. He passed but made sure he let me know multiple times that he didn't have his banana for the day. Of course it was all my fault b/c I thought Tusker House had them & they didn't! Trust me, I was sorry he didn't get one also!!

It was a great safari!! We got to see so many animals up close!!

Time for our daily Starbucks fix. I guess they ran out of regular lids. My drink does not require a dome lid.
IMG_3092.jpg

We headed to FotLK next. I love this show but I was also excited to sit in the a/c for a bit. It was getting quite warm out!!
AK was testing out the zone parking for strollers. The first time you went to park your stroller they put a tag on it. For the rest of the day
that is the zone where you would park it for all attractions. It worked out quite well & I thought it was much easier to find your stroller than in the past.
