What would be the penalty for this one?

IANAL, but I'm not sure if this is trespassing because they did technically pay to enter the park. That would be a tough charge to press. And the one time they did run into a security guard, the cops weren't called.

Paying to get into the park doesn't grant you access to unauthorized areas, or CM only areas.

But if paying admission means I can do whatever I please, I'll be roaming around the lobby of ToT next time I go.

"They may broken the contract implied by the admission ticket that a guest won't venture into unauthorized areas..."

You don't get to have it both ways. They went into a closed attraction no longer available for guests, and swam a lake in which guests are forbidden to swim to peruse a closed park. It was trespassing.....

Actually the attraction was open and running when they went on it! They hopped out of their car and ran around while other guests were riding it. Were only ever seen by guests and castmembers once (the aforementioned incident with the guard)

Just talked to my wife who's in the legal field. It's definitely civil trespassing, and I was right about the admission ticket contract. She said that the criminal trespassing laws vary state to state, so she doesn't know if that would count as criminal trespass in Florida. In North Carolina it would however!

Did you break the speed limit today? Just curious.

I don't go around bragging if I exceed the speed limit, and know I deserve a ticket if I'm caught. I'm also aware of the potential danger involved, will have no one to blame but myself if I'm hurt, and will deserve severe punishment if I hurt someone else.

But I very rarely exceed the speed limit anyway, and have only gotten two speeding tickets in my life - both in areas where the limit dropped, and I had no other cars around me - which would have alerted me despite missing the sign.

So, they entered parts of the attraction by removing themselves from their cars. That voids their tickets. As would the second act....

Not to mention I'm not going to videotape myself speeding either.....:dazzle:

That makes a difference how?

Look, obviously no one is going to change anyone's opinion on this. I would never do it personally, and I don't know how they did without getting caught... But I'm glad it affords me a look very deep into an attraction that I wouldn't have otherwise. Ever since I was a teenager and worked in ride ops for my local six flags, I've wanted a peek behind the curtain like this at a disney attraction, and now I have it.

I follow rules in general, but I'm sure if I thought about it for a while, I could come up with a handful of things I had done that crossed a line, so I don't condemn anyone else. I'm careful not to throw stones from my glass house, but obviously that's not a concern shared by some of you here. No worries. Preach on, Preacher!!

I'm quite sure your whole first paragraph are sentiments they shared when they did this as well... In fact, they said as much. I don't see how that makes what they did any more or less bad than you breaking the speed limit.

And really my point was just to show that I'm sure daily most of us break a rule that puts ourselves and others on far more danger than what these guys did.

It'd be different in my mind if they were vandalizing, or stealing, or even effecting other guests...

There is a difference. The only one I harm by drinking underage is ME. Btw in Germany Baseball plays no role what so ever and you are allowed to drink beer and wine at the age of 16, liquor etc. at the age of 18, so that was never a matter to me because I didn't even want to drink alcohol before I became 16.
But these a...holes are spoiling the experience for other guests (a. I don't want any idiots running through a scene when I am doing a ride, they are breaking park rules in a severe way (which shows they don't pay respect to rules in general, as I already said, antisocial, rude behaviour) and b. they are causing a security problem that is solved by designing and installing monitoring devices that make the construction of a ride more expensive.
No, I don't lighten up and I don't feel inclined to do it either. Not if it means to applaud to antisocial, immature a..holes, like these.

Wrong. Underaged drinking makes you a liability to everyone around you, due to the fact that underaged drinkers are more inexperienced, haven't formed safe drinking habits yet, aren't all that cautious about their drinking, and often don't measure out how many drinks they're having. You are more likely to have to be taken care of when you're an underaged drinker and thus more likely to put those around you in a dangerous situation.

Anyhow:

a. There was no one around, and they were careful not to be seen. They weren't putting on a freaking show of this.

b. Not exactly. Such things were already being installed.

Criminal trespass could be filed for this, however *The Statute of Limitations for bringing an action for trespass on real property is four (4) years, pursuant to section 95.11(3)(g), Florida Statutes*. If it were prosecuted within the time frame, upon conviction they could be looking at a range of 60 days to 1 year, depending on what degree misdemeanor is filed, and / or a fine of $500 up to $1,000.

Wouldn't there have to be a rule and or sign expressly forbidding leaving your vehicle for trespassing laws to apply?

No. It's just like running out on a NFL or MLB field. Fully enforceable and practically unbeatable.

I think the "Keep your arms and legs in the vehicle at all times" announcement might qualify.

You obviously haven't seen their site. Learn about what they did before you attack... You're way off on what they did and how they did it.

Way to attack without having all the facts though. Good for you!

They broke important rules, important for safety, important for the parks to be manageable. I don't care for the reasons. There is no exception. Any one who accepts that you can break rules (not some minor ones but major ones) at WDW if you "have a reason" shows disrespect to the park and it's employees.

The only people at risk are these guys. They are not risking or causing a hazardous situation for other guests. Yes what they are doing is wrong and if they get caught should be fined and or prosecuted by what ever the law says. If they were ruining someones experience or putting people in harms way I would have a problem with it, but they are only risking themselves and to each his own.
