I agree with this.
As for the whole "lighten up" thing, would these guys be heroes if they damaged the attraction? or worse yet, injured themselves?
They didn't "do the impossible" they jumped over a barrier that anyone at that time could have, but most were smart enough not to. The "impossible" would've been somehow managing to stay in the parks overnight, or something equally as stupid.
Have you read much on their website?
They clearly did this to document every little thing from every angle possible. Their goal wasn't to trash the place. And no, obviously if they did it to cause damage or whatever (like I personally saw at Six Flags a lot when I worked there in ride ops), then it would be completely different.
Also, if you read their site, their method for how and when to get in and out and where they went and how they ensured they didn't get caught we very involved, and dare I say it, genius.
They also did this so as not to be seen by ANYONE... CM or guest. So they weren't setting a bad example for little kids as they passed or anything.
I love Martin's vids... But these guys did something Martin didn't do. And, by the way... Martin's a big fan of theirs as well.
It's just a jealousy thing for me... They ran around and got the most detailed look that any guest has ever gotten at an incredibly detailed and intricate attraction at Epcot. I'm jealous they had the stones to do it, and I'm glad I get to see the video.
It's just like CoffeeJedi said. You root for Ferris even though he should have been in school. If ferris would have drunk driven and ran over 4 kids in the Ferrari, it might have been a different story. But he didn't. Instead, he just got a great table for free lunch with Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago.
I behave and follow every rule when I'm at Disney... But that doesn't mean the little devil that sits on one of my shoulders doesn't tell me to be infatuated with what they did.
