What would be the penalty for this one?

I agree that this is NOT impressive. People like this end up damaging the ride, or hurting themselves. Also, try explaining to your kids why they can't jump off the car like those ADULTS if your riding behind these hillbillies.

For those who envy what they did, that's really sad. It's a ride, ride it. These are the same type of morons who would just HAVE to touch the Mona Lisa if they could. The sets on a ride are pieces of art, just look at them, and appreciate it, don't insert yourself into it.

Wait... I shouldn't have touched the Mona Lisa? :lookaroun

I have to say it, I can't help it.
These guys are my freakin' heroes. I know... I know what you're going to say. That they're reckless and stupid and could have hurt themselves or damaged the attraction. If a kid saw them running around it would have destroyed the magic, I know all of this and don't dispute it.

And yet.....

There's this visceral reaction of stunned awe and jealousy that they pulled it off. I mean, these guys practically LIVED in that attraction for hours at a time.

And we now have them to thank for some of the best videos and photos documenting Horizons before it was razed! So yeah, call them dumb, stupid, immature, what have you. But these guys "done the impossible, and that makes them mighty." Hoot Gibson, Chief, I salute you!

I have to agree. There is no question that what these guys did was wrong but by nutting up and doing it we have great documentation of one of my favorite Disney attractions of all time. Sadly those videos also show why this attraction is no longer there.

Yep antisocial behaviour makes some freak a hero in the distorted view of some people nowadays. Nothing to be proud of.

I hope you've never made an illegal U-turn, drank underage, ripped the tag off a mattress, or used any description or account of a Major League Baseball game without the expressed, written consent of Major League Baseball.

To quote a wonderful movie... "Lighten up, Francis".

I love these guys. They are fantastic, hilarious, and had balls the size of watermelons. (Which must have made it hard to jump out of the moving Horizons vehicles) I wish they updated their blog more often. They have so many amazing pictures and stories to share!

Martins videos are the True memorials to this and all attractions at Disney etc.

He does them with style, grace, beauty and reverence / respect for the ride or attraction.

I will take a video by Martin any day, any time and in any form instead of ones like these.

His videos have and will continue to save timeless classics such as Horizons without resorting to these antics.

Said it before and saying it again. Thank you Martin.

I agree with this.

As for the whole "lighten up" thing, would these guys be heroes if they damaged the attraction? or worse yet, injured themselves?

They didn't "do the impossible" they jumped over a barrier that anyone at that time could have, but most were smart enough not to. The "impossible" would've been somehow managing to stay in the parks overnight, or something equally as stupid.

Have you read much on their website?

They clearly did this to document every little thing from every angle possible. Their goal wasn't to trash the place. And no, obviously if they did it to cause damage or whatever (like I personally saw at Six Flags a lot when I worked there in ride ops), then it would be completely different.

Also, if you read their site, their method for how and when to get in and out and where they went and how they ensured they didn't get caught we very involved, and dare I say it, genius.

They also did this so as not to be seen by ANYONE... CM or guest. So they weren't setting a bad example for little kids as they passed or anything.

I love Martin's vids... But these guys did something Martin didn't do. And, by the way... Martin's a big fan of theirs as well.

It's just a jealousy thing for me... They ran around and got the most detailed look that any guest has ever gotten at an incredibly detailed and intricate attraction at Epcot. I'm jealous they had the stones to do it, and I'm glad I get to see the video.

It's just like CoffeeJedi said. You root for Ferris even though he should have been in school. If ferris would have drunk driven and ran over 4 kids in the Ferrari, it might have been a different story. But he didn't. Instead, he just got a great table for free lunch with Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago.

I behave and follow every rule when I'm at Disney... But that doesn't mean the little devil that sits on one of my shoulders doesn't tell me to be infatuated with what they did.
