What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

Since they haven’t sold an A,B,C,D,E ticket in decades…it’s all really just an arbitrary labeling system.

I judge the results. Never doubted it on tower or splash of flight of passage. I could See the falcon being in that grouping with modifications (probably need a tad more off the platforms?)…

But I never thought that on the this. It is what it is.

I’ll not convince anyone…which means it’s time to stop.

I see Spain Epcot questions are floating around? Brazil I’m sure is right on deck…and AWAY we go…🪁

Brazil is a done deal :)

The problem with Rise is that it lacks any thrill, outside of the sim drop pod at the end.

Bad AA's. Some props never seem to be fully working (the 3 big guns near the end). Characters most people have little connection to. The Walker room is underwhelming and too short, it's painfully obvious the room is super small. Some scenes are simply ruined by screens where AA's would have made a much bigger impact (the room where the Resistance breaks you out).

Overall, for all the hype, me and everyone I know who has ridden it likes it enough but nobody raved about it or was super eager to ride again on future trips.

That being said, is ambitious and does do some cool things. I give it a solid 8/10 with hopes that the next time they do such an ambitious ride they learned enough to really make it a classic 10/10.

Maybe they'll announce it next month!

H2O Plus is discontinuing their brand, Disney could use D23 to announce a new supplier for the hotels and cruise line. The products have a pretty decent following.

I feel like most the hype came from people like me who rode it and deemed it the best attraction in the world, not necessarily the Walt Disney Company, but that doesn’t fit the Disney bad bad company ambitions.
if i recall correctly iger was quoted as saying all he had to do was say SWL was open no need top advertise... how did that work out for him... the Land to me is a major disappointment

They misread the IP from the start. It’s a pretty easy narrative to form.

But for another time/place.

Where’s my Oracle with rumblings? 🤪😎👍🏻
I don't think they misread the IP, SW is one of the most popular worlds, but I think they misread which timeline mattered the most. People still wanted to experience 456 not 789. I also think it needs another ride. Then again, isn't GE mobbed daily? It's certainly not a flop. They just need Rise to work, more often, for us to be happy (I have yet to ride it).

2 rides NO character restaurant and how many promises broken that were suppose to be delivered? And honestly when it comes to timeline does it matter if its scattered i agree they chose wrong one but we have Star Tours than Muppets than SWL so as i said does it really matter?

I'm not a fan of Mermaid, but it's a much better ride than Nemo.

The biggest issues with Mermaid are the queue/facade, which sets expectations the ride can't meet, and the amount of money they spent on it. It's a bit like Guardians in that if you know how much it cost, you're thinking "where the heck did the money go?"
I think Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast in Tokyo have similarly impressive scenes but ultimately fail to be complete home runs. In Mermaid, the Under the Sea scene is well executed, especially for an omnimover. The Squash and Stretch Ursula is also an impressive figure. The AAs in that attraction are better than any in Fantasyland. Comparatively, in Tokyo the BatB AAs are better, the scope is bigger, but ultimately the ride peaks too early with Be Our Guest.

The issue that both of them share is that they lack a final wow moment and the missing sequence is the same for both rides. They're both missing the main encounter with the villain. If both of those sequences were better realized both rides would be substantially better. They're both book report rides but they left out the most thrilling part of the book.

I think WDW DESPERATELY needs more Winnie the Poohs, Peter Pan's Flights, and Snow White's Scary Adventures (RIP).

Each of those attractions, for their faults, scratches the itch in a way Mermaid and Nemo don't. I'd hate to say they don't make 'em like the used to, but sometimes it almost seems like it.

Someone needs to come along and re-teach Disney the art and the value of the C-Ticket. They're making them less and missing the mark too often when they do.

What those Disneyland / Fantasyland / Busbar style rides accomplish is they have a reduced scope so the storytelling didn't need to be as complete. But when scope is extended as it is with the two rides mentioned above, it changes expectations. E-ticket queue with a C/D-ticket experience is going to be underwhelming. Similarly, I recall Eddie Sotto talking about doing the opposite on Pooh's Hunny Hunt.

Again…it’s a tangent…but it goes WAY deeper down the well. 🤪

Someday there’ll be a book written. (Probably by Colin Treverrow)

My issue with the Nemo ride is it makes no sense in the context. They should have designed the ride and queue to fit the theme of sea base with nemo as a visitor. Right now the ride and the rest of the pavilion don’t make sense story wise.

It’s an aquarium meant to educate. Really no other story was gonna fit right

Brains are ok too 🧠
Mr. Ray is leading the kids out on an educational tour of the ocean. There, you've stayed in character, and you don't have another Home Alone situation with Nemo.

That’s be perfect! I just never understood how you end up going from like a cartoon fish world to a scientific seabase. The whole thing should be Seabase with the characters visiting, as you said.
