What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

I think the move for Florida is to spread out the entities that they can use and put them where they're most appropriate. DHS is the default answer, but it doesn't have to be if the story treatments work.

Definitely -- I'm just not sure any Marvel characters are appropriate for AK. The land/animals could be, but not if they use that as a backdrop to focus on the human characters.

I think predicting an Encanto ride is giving disney too much credit. It took them a couple years to announce a Frozen ride and that is one of Disney's most popular IPs ever. I do see them announcing a smaller Encanto attraction somewhere, but not a full on ride just yet.

I'm of the opinion that Ta La / mythical animals vibe from that particular scene fits incredible well at DAK. DHS is the park where the stretch from RnRC to One Man's Dream could be literally anything and I'd rather they devote that to something that doesn't have as clean a fit elsewhere.
I definitely don’t disagree. I think it could work. I just think Hollywood Studios needs more greenery and a spruced up hub and the land would fit perfectly.

Dr. Strange is filmed in Nepal, so Everest as a backdrop would work perfect, but I find it had to fit Strange in to Animal Kingdom.

If we’re doing Talo, how do we justify Everest existing in the background? Or do we just hide Everest from within the land and make it a transition?

I’m not against using Ta Lo in Animal Kingdom through its mythical animals, but we already have Pandora that essentially functions in the same way as an ideal Ta Lo where a fictional setting and its animals are presented as true

Personally, I would prefer a mystic safari attraction in the foothills of Everest. The difference between this attraction and the other attractions with fictional animals is while its baseline is also fictional, its driver is magic, not being transported to another world.

Ok we're getting into Avatar territory here...Marvel has NO PLACE at Animal Kingdom, let's not start deluding ourselves. Just because it's happening in Epcot doesn't mean it should happen in every park.

I joined this forum railing against Avatar being added to Animal Kingdom for two reasons: 1) Replacing Beastly Kingdomme (which is one of the largest tragedies of my Disney Parks fandom) and 2) Adding an outside IP about fictional aliens to this type of park. I'm not going to debate that again, because astonishingly it seemed more people were okay with it than not.

However, Dr. Strange in Animal Kingdom...I don't even know what to say. It sounds exactly like something Disney WOULD do right now, and now I'm worried you all might be on to something. I'm sure there is some Animal Kingdom purist out there that can put some better words to my nausea about this possibility. I would never have believed Avatar in AK was possible fifteen years ago, and I never really considered Marvel as a feasible option there.

Tying this all back to the topic, unfortunately, I do see something like this being announced at D23. :banghead:

I believe you misunderstood my statement. I agree with you.

Integrating Marvel in Animal Kingdom requires the Pandora approach, but I don't believe this approach should be repeated.

Dr. Strange's only petition to fit is a loose connection to Everest, but that hold's the same amount of water as a strainer.

Ta Lo, like previously mentioned, could fit through the same route as Pandora, however, the IP doesn't lend itself as well. Even if it did, I believe it would be an inappropriate route.

My apologies, I didn't really mean to address it to you. I'm more flailing my arms and shouting at the (Disney) world at this point.

I'm not sure that approach even could be repeated now that Joe Rohde is gone. He managed to make it fit into Animal Kingdom as well as it possibly could.
As someone who just experienced Pandora last Friday for the first time. He did his damn best and it worked out extremely well.
I don't see Marvel fitting as well, Avatar's main focus was on the environment and the animals in it, since that's all anyone remembers of the film anyway (good call, I loveeee the banshee design). Marvel has no ecological message, especially Strange and Shang-Chi. There is no way to add that stuff to AK without it being dumb and gaudy.

My Wishlist, I think Animal Kingdom it will be the main foccus of this event:

Animal Kingdom
- Replacement of Dinoland (Maybe Dinosaur dark ride stays?)
- New Nighttime show announcement
- New dark ride in Africa
- What do u think of replacing It's Tough to be a bug! with some new show of Encanto?

Magic Kingdom
- Beauty & the Beast dark ride from Tokyo to Orlando
- New details at the Princess and the frog ride
- New Nighttime show announcement in replace of Enchantment

Hollywood Studios
- I don't think Disney will make a major announcement for this park in this D23 event... maybe something little

Epcot
- New details of Play Pavilion and the other things that Disney says it will built in the next few years (hope mary poppins too)
- Brazil pavilion announcement
I WISH! I would love to see any/all of this. I have a question though. Isn't OLC known for not cloning their original rides for other Disney parks? I'm talking about the BATB ride that I wish we had in the States.

On a real note, unless any projects are green-lit in the next few months, I expect a heavy focus on Toontown, Tron for MK, and a few very minor changes for the parks.

I don't expect anything massive
