Well, Disney better do something with it soon, or else it will be the baby son of Discover Island...:lookaroun

There could be a new buffet called, "Island's Eatings":ROFLOL:

Or it could be attached to Liberty Square's side for an entrance to the brand new, "Obama Wild Ride!"

I wasn't being serious because you can't really replace that island you got there with anything that's frontierland style with what it already is... it could be some kind of Liberty Square garden island...:)

Maybe a new adventure of ichabod ride? :)

I voted that it could be plussed up a bit. Let's face it, some good ideas wouldn't hurt it. I like the caves and all though and the relaxed feel it has while on the Island. It gives you the different viewpoints of the park. Plus I love Liberty Belle Riverboat and enjoy that relaxing ride so I say that if they do anything maybe a dark ride but leaving it as it is would be fine too.

What in your opinion should happen with TSI?

I would like to see it rethemed to be WDW version of New Orleans Square. The difference between DL would be our NO square would be themed to the Bayou instead of the city. There could be a cajin/creole restaurant. Also there is plenty of room for a c or D ticket Princess & the Fro dark ride.

If they could truly do this, this is a great idea.

Maybe I'm too young (27) to really understand TSI but I wasn't too impressed by the island I thought it was a bore.

So if someone doesn't mind what's all the fuss about this island anyway? I guess I could say the same about SFT since I didn't seem impressed by that either.

But maybe I just don't understand the true meaning behind it.

Not every part of MK has to be a thrill ride etc. I agree, the island needs a refurb and a plussing, but placing a major ride here woudl create some serious problems with the rafts as they don't have the capacity of bringing enough guests to the island. Imagine the lines if a ride on TSI would be built and everyone who wants to get there has to take the raft.
I think TSI should definitely be expanded beyond Fort St. Clemens, but stay a playground, an area to explore but in a relaxed way. If a minor additional attraction should be built here do it as a walkthrough, not a ride.

TSI really amazes me, not only because of what it is but also the way it is built and arranged. I think that if someone tried to build something identical today, you would hear complaints about safety, accessibility, it's too scary, etc. TSI really feels like it was designed and built in a different era.

-narrow pathways/pathways with only steps I don't think would be possible today because of ADA.
-The sections of caves that are so narrow I have trouble getting through them and I am built like a toothpick.
-The sections of caves that are so dark to the point of not seeing, raises fire and safety concerns, as well as the opportunity for guests to surprise/scare other guests.

I love TSI partly because of what it is, and partly because of its existence despite the above, but I am suprised it doesn't get more pressure to be changed. I am somewhat leery of supporting it being changed, or even plussed, because I think the narrow, dark cave mazes would be the first to go along with the winding pathways of the island, and if those are taken away, a lot of the island's character is going to go with it.

Really the thing that makes the TSI and SFT attractions fun is your own imagination. The caves and paths on the island, the rooms in the tree house are just props to allow your imagination to play.

Maybe that's just me though...

The one thing it needs is to reopen Aunt Polly's...we were on the island one summer day and it was hot as the blazes...with no place to get a drink, several of the drinking fountains were not working. From now on I make sure I take a bottled drink or two with us.
We enjoy TSI, but we always take a trip to Hannibal Mo. every few years to visit family/friends...unfortunately I think alot of kids don't understand the whole Mark Twain experience...Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, etc.,
There is a lot of potential for enhancement with character development...Injun Joe, Huck, Aunt Polly, Becky...etc.,

I'd say leave it alone or enhance it but don't change it. It is a part of the American Frontier..with St.Louis being the gateway to the west, Hannibal Mo (Tom's 'hometown') isn't too far away on the Mississippi River so the theme fits well in that area.

Let`s wait and see....

Tease! :lol::lol:

I voted keep & plus it. I don't know how well an E-ticket would do there. I remember lines for the rafts when I was a kid and then it being like a bunch of packed sardines going across. I was a nervous child so I was always wary of the raft situation. As low as they would be I was always afraid I'd end up swimming where I shouldn't be. If I saw larger people get on the same raft as me I was struggling to maintain my composure. :lookaroun

I haven't been over to TSI since I was a kid because I don't feel the need. If the see-saw rock is gone then I'm officially . That was my favorite thing on the island.

It needs something. A water ride would be cool & theme it to Tom & Huck's adventures. There's a LOT you could do with Tom & Huck.

I would love for it to stay a Tom Sawyer theme. It fits the area, offers rich story opportunity, and brings younger generations in touch with another literary classic. That's not wrong, no matter how irrelevant some may label it.

Not just you. When I was a kid I loved the treehouse because I would imagine myself living there. Now I love it because I'm reminded of my childhood daydreams.

I think an E ticket would do fine if they added a bridge to allow acess to TSI.

TSI is one place where I would prefer form over function. Getting there by raft is part of the story. There is I believe one additional dock that is unused. If you needed to increase capacity I would much rather seem them use that dock. Plus a bridge would not allow the steam boat to pass.

Agreed.

I think some River Rapids through an old mine would be cool, but then there would certainly be capacity problems due to the rafts. I don't think they could build something that draws a lot of people there without running into those issues, though.
