What planet would you replace Batuu at Disneyland?

It sounds like Tatooine is the best choose. I prefer Han or Chewy than Hondo.

Clearly they would have gone with Chewie except the fact that you can't friggin' understand him.

And Han? Which version of Han? The 70 year old version that Harrison Ford would probably not actually come back to play, the dead version of Han (since he's, you know, dead now!) or a young version of Han played by a different actor, so no one would care? Or Alden Erenreich, who would also be out of the "classic" timeframe and therefore would lead to just as many complaints?

Just to be argumentative, why would you need an actor for an audio animatronic?

The young Harrison Ford in original trilogy because people care.

Human animatronics don't look very good. You'd fast approach uncanny valley territory. There's a reason the Indy animatronic barely moves and is in the dark.

If Disney had access to a time machine, I'm sure they would have put it to use by now.

(also, that would be upending their ST batuu concept, which I know some would already be in favor of, but there it is.)

True,
Also using the projections for the faces is scary during a breakdown.
But I think it would be better but maybe it should be Han on a screen (in falcons) and Chewie as a animatronic.

I'm itching to see a new human animatronic. I'm hoping RotR has at least 1 (I'm not counting the masked humans)

Honestly the only reason Lincoln looks so amazing is because it was produced from an actual cast of the president’s face. They could easily do the same with any of the actors from the new trilogy. I wish they would do that with the presidents in the Hall of Presidents so we wouldn’t get the weird Hillary Trump abomination.

Animatronics could work in the land if they placed some droid/trooper ones on the roofs that the actual troopers hang out on. Droids like the C3PO/R2 from the star tours line would add some life to the exterior spaces. Seems like there are alot of balconies and overhangs in the town/market area you could place things. Could even place them on rails like the exterior IASW clock area or Rocket in GoTG, it would be more cost friendly(acceptable to corporate) then pilling up live actors.

I don't think it's a good idea to put droids or troopers on the balconies especially in today's world. One time when I went to Batuu I saw two troopers on the top of the buildings . I was kinda scared.

I remember reading something that Han Solo was going to be killed in one of the original trilogies. I can't remember which one.

I haven’t visited yet, but from pictures and video, Batuu seems to give off a similar vibe to Tatooine and Jakku. Visually, I don’t think there would have been a huge difference between Batuu and Tatooine.

Personally, I’m glad a gritty locale was chosen rather than a more visually beautiful place like Endor, Naboo, or Yavin.

With that being said, the streetmosphere and entertainment sound underwhelming at this point. If that were improved, I think the land would be terrific.

I’m in favor of removing the Sequel Trilogy timeline for Batuu and just make it all relevant for all Star Wars movies. Besides, Hondo has nothing to do with Sequel Trilogy. Why should he be there over Han Solo? This coaxium storyline is actually pre-original trilogy in the failed Solo movie. Why they are referencing a pre-original trilogy movie in sequel trilogy Batuu is a disconnect no one talks about. Maybe Galaxy’s Edge should be advertised as Disney Star Wars, no George Lucas.
