What new retail and dining locations would you like to see added to DTD?

Would love to see a sports grill/shop (i know that they have one at Uni but it would help keep us rednecks in the world ;) )
Also would love to see a cheesecake factory
As for all the PP who are complaining that they don't want it to be chain stores they can find at their local mall I just wonder what the percentage of American to international visitors is at WDW ? because of it is a much higher percentage of international visitors then it would make sense for Disney to have these stores on property rather than have the people leave the world to do their shopping
True enough. The Brazilians do go to the mall! Don't know how much they're spending. I saw a huge group string on the floor, rather blocking the entrance/exit at the mall. Loads of kids, a few bags. I wondered if they were spending enough to make it worth the while of the mall to have them in there, annoying people. But someone was telling them to get out of the way of the doors.

Still, it isn't like they don't have internet in England or Brazil. These folks don't need to come here to shop chain stores. A mall is definitely a gamble. I'm sure Disney has thought all that through, though, and knows what it's doing.

And if the Brazilians are shopping at WDW, that might just clear the mall out, which would be good, too! :)

Internet shopping is ok to an extent but i would much rather look/touch/try on things that i buy for the most part (does that make me old fashioned ? )

Whatever they bring, it needs to be unique. We don't need to see more chains and places where you can eat in your own hometown. When I'm on vacation, I want to have experiences that you can't get at home. Thats the point of a vacation-to vacate normal life for a little bit. I feel it's important to try and live outside of your comfort zone a bit. Life is too short-have new experiences and have an imagination!

At the end of the day I just hope they use their imaginations with this. Nobody's arguing that they won't make a lot of money... I just hope it's done in a way were what is essentially an upscale mall can tell a story (much like the deluxe resorts do) that is more than the sum of it's parts.

I can't decide if that's what we're in for based on the concept art.

I'd like to see an all things Marvel store. Same with Pixar and Star Wars. Lots of stuff wouldn't be park exclusive but they could also offer some high end stuff only to be found at the Disney Springs store. I'd also like to see a store dedicated to some of the more rare charactes in the Disney universe and a really, really good BBQ spot. Dine in and quick service with and outdoor area like Epcots San Angel only with more tables outside.

I also would like to see a large store that carried items, wine, and liquor from all of the countries represented in World Showcase and Animal Kingdom.

That would be cool, although how would I be able to get anything home? Only a very few enlightened states allow you to ship in wine, and even fewer allow liquor. In any event, I would like to be able to go and try these and also have drinks made of these. Like a mini World Showcase, but made up of bars (under one roof).

I agree with those who want unique places, not chains. Exceptions maybe being a well loved regional chain not available in that part of the country (such as an In-N-Out in FL).

Although they really do need a Sephora/Walgreens type place to be able to get toiletries and small grocery items.

For a CS in Disney parlance I would love me some Chipotle. Is there any chance, a whiff of hope that the best restaurant from my childhood (grew up near Tampa) The Columbia Restaurant could have a location at DS? I see there is a location in Celebration. Plus, we're in Florida. How about a really nice seafood place. Something better than the case of the crabs that has infected the poor Empress.

o_O I've been there once and it was easily the most disgustingly greasy thing that I have eaten.

I was starting to like you and thought we could be friends and now I see this? *sigh* I don't know if I can overcome this opinion. Actually, a Varsity type establishment would be great out at the WWoS complex. It would kind of fit in with the idea...

I agree with the sentiments of not wanting chain stuff (except Chi-Chis, lol). Also don't want more merchandise of poor quality. We have enough over-priced, poor quality Disney merchandise at WDW.

And that is why, for the life of me, I can't think of anything I do want to see at DTD. Ask for more shopping, we get more junk.

Maybe some decent themed restaurants.

Or MAYBE one...just ONE restaurant that isn't loud and noisy, doesn't have tables crammed in so close you can hear the conversation at the next table, just a nice, relaxing meal where you don't have to get dressed up and that isn't all creative cuisine. Just good food in a relaxing atmosphere. I realize that will never, ever happen, but it would be nice.
I also agree on the disdain for chain restaurants. So how about a micro brewery with good/authentic cuisine?

The micro brewery could be modeled after the best micro brewery in the USA located in the micro brewery capital of the USA. This establishment is known as HopCat (www.hopcatgr.com)

As for food, replicate the menu and atmosphere from Groniger's in Hamburg Germany (http://www.groeninger-hamburg.de).

As microbrewery/restaurant of this combination and quality would sell more than the Biergarten in EPCOT.

 I'm ashamed of myself. And, actually, it would fit in. Maybe it was just a bad experience. I remember the restaurant being cool, but just not being super stoked on the food. In my defense this was seven years ago or so. Jesus.

So, this is blue-sky, and there is no way that this is EVER coming down there, but I kind of wish they'd do a little "vegas" style thing here. No, not gambling, though, if they really want to make some money...

What I mean is, you know how right now, in the world of the chef, a chef will spend 30 years busting their hump working their way up from dishwasher to executive chef, open their restaurant in NYC, Napa Valley, etc, make their name, and then open up a branch or offshoot restaurant in Vegas. I kind of wish Disney Springs would do that. There is precedent, with Wolfgang Puck, Cat Cora and Todd English. But I kind of wish that DS had 5-10 "celebrity" joints. Kellar opening up another Bouchon, Collichio open a CraftSteak, etc.
I think that the names MIGHT keep some of these joints open, even if the prices would be astronomical when you take the "fine" dining aspects and add them to Disney pricing. Still, they might be able to make it work.

Again, I don't see it happening by a mile, but hey, this is a "what would you like to see" thread, right? That is what I would like to see.
