What is the plan for Innoventions East and West?

Question mostly for marni1971- has there ever been a time when the Communicore buildings were fully utilized? I seem to think that even in the days Backstage Magic and the Epcot Poll, that there was still some space that wasn't being used.
Thanks.

They have indeed dreamt big.

Now Chapek needs to put the money where his mouth is. The proposed budget is huge. It's up to the two Bobs to follow up their PR spin and actually follow through with ALL of it.
But are those dreams in line with EPCOT or are they more akin to IPCOT?

Yep. In the late 80s to mid 90s they were all used. I'd post some maps but it's out of the scope of this thread.

Clockwise in the north east you had Central and Backstage Magic, Travelport, Energy Exchange and Stargate.

South east had Centorium and Future Choice Theatre

South west had Expo Robotics and Sunrise Terrace

And north west had EPCOT Outreach and Futurecom.

I never underestimate what Imagineering can do but this seems like quite the challenge. Hoping to have my doubts proved wrong.

There's no denying it'll be more IPCOT. Not totally but more.

Guess it's kind of inevitable, but reading it still brings me down. At this stage we should be happy to see work being done at all given how dated so much of Future World is, but man, I really hope EPCOT still survives feeling distinct and unique from the rest of the WDW experience.

It'd go a long way to reassure fans if they really do a solid job fixing Imagination; my hopes aren't incredibly high for UoE, but a strong redo of Imagination would make fora lot of good will.

So the basic plan is (Martin, correct me if I am wrong)
*Graveyard (LAL) removed
*Total aesthetic re-do and replacement for Innoventions, MouseGear etc.
*Something (probably Marvel- related) in UoE Spot
*WoL getting something
*Mission Space- staying the same
*Test Track- staying the same
*The Seas-Staying the same
*The Land-Staying the same
*Imagination-Staying the same (For now)
*World Showcase- Expect more IP-based Attractions.
*RoE Replacement.
Trying to remain optimistic.

Until they come up with a better solution for a Festival Center, I can't imagine anything new going in to the old WoL building. They really should expand Odyssey and have that be the new Fest Center - especially makes sense for F&W, but I'm not sure they have enough space for that.

Look, epcot has more food, shopping and capacity than any of the park but hardly any attractions. Future world could close down and people would still flood into world showcase. Right now Future world needs a whole need plan, mission whatever you'd like to call it. They could easily put 2+ billion into future world and it would pay off. Epcot can handle way more people..
