What is the plan for Innoventions East and West?

No. it's coming from increased prices and more upcharges.

The budget overrun has turned into a corporate nightmare.

Seriously though, once ticket and plush sales and F&B sales start rolling in at DAK the chicken little panic will seem unnecessary.

@marni1971 I know you've said anything happening to WoL will be many years out, but have you heard of any chance they could just do a complete refurbishment on the WoL building and simply bring a new version of body Wars (or whatever ip) into it and update the rest of the Pavilion accordingly with a modest budget? Basically polish everything, get the ride working, update the resturant area and overall interior space, leave the structure and footprint as it is for now and have it back open again as a pavilion and not a event space. This wouldn't require a huge budget, hell, everything is pretty much already there.

Wonders of Life doesn't really exist, the Festival Centre has taken over. Switching back looks very unlikely. See http://www.yesterland.com/erasing.html

Nope, that map shows the whole of both buildings in use, as they indeed were. What may appear as empty space were either circulation areas (remember the open plan design) or outside of the exterior walls. I've (badly on an iPad) drawn the outline of the buildings as they were on the attached file.

It does have one error; the teachers centre was also inside the forth rotunda (which was built especially for it in 1989) and which has since been demolished. The outreach bookstore was also in here on the upper floor.

The upper level teachers center moved for Innoventions; upstairs in the 1994 new build on the north end of Innoventions West. The space is now above Art of Disney.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I had no idea a portion had been removed.
How I miss those guidebooks- I loved the maps for every individual attraction and showcase pavilion.

Somebody mentioned in another thread that the financial wizards would be looking for monies to make up for the cash that went into fully developing Pandora. I am thinking that cash will come from Pandora/DAK ticket sales because it was fully developed. But then I am not a financial wizard.
I would actually agree with you. I too hope there is confidence quality will always be a good business model. That, plus hope fore some budgetary sense from the imagineering princesses.

Right now the plot is more of a placeholder. There's a possibility the building will be reused. A slim one. But Wonders of Life v2 is not on the cards. It's more likely the land will be used minus the pavilion sadly.

At least it's taken dozens of management people to admit the land is valuable theme park real estate and not a festival tent.

Yep. In the late 80s to mid 90s they were all used. I'd post some maps but it's out of the scope of this thread.

Clockwise in the north east you had Central and Backstage Magic, Travelport, Energy Exchange and Stargate.

South east had Centorium and Future Choice Theatre

South west had Expo Robotics and Sunrise Terrace

And north west had EPCOT Outreach and Futurecom.
And in the 90s, they had the Sega exhibit!

Totally unrelated...

But thinking of the golden dome of WoL really makes me want some like...sunny side up eggs...little salt and pepper...a little butter to fry it in...

(it's morning here and it's cold...breakfast sounds good...anyone wanna go grab some eggs and toast?)

So the basic plan is (Martin, correct me if I am wrong)
*Graveyard (LAL) removed
*Total aesthetic re-do and replacement for Innoventions, MouseGear etc.
*Something (probably Marvel- related) in UoE Spot
*WoL getting something
*Mission Space- staying the same
*Test Track- staying the same
*The Seas-Staying the same
*The Land-Staying the same
*Imagination-Staying the same (For now)
*World Showcase- Expect more IP-based Attractions.
*RoE Replacement.
Trying to remain optimistic

So lets see.

Put planters back, check.
New Paint job (already started that)
Dark ride thru Universe of the Galaxy.. maybe.
WoL Festival Center 4.0
Mission Space. New Film at 11.
Seas, with finding nemo part 3.
The Land, with yet another fish tank change out.
Imagination.. nothing left of that.
World Showcase (Cabana's of the world)
RoE Replacement (put high res LED's on a full sphere screen and change soundtrack)

OKAY, so add that all up to 35-45 million to cover it and about 1 year of work.
Color me not impressed.

IF we get a FULLY FROM THE GROUND UP NEW JIYI AND UoE, okay I'll up to to 120 million.. but that's a big IF!

Something gives me the feeing you know absolutely nothing about what's going to actually happen or what scale the budget actually is... Especially considering that (if I recall correctly) @marni1971 said its budget would dwarf DCA's renovation ($200 million of which was solely for the Cars ride), so yea...
