What is the plan for Innoventions East and West?

I remember us discussing this before. One issue with a FW Wedway is having to go up and over the SSE lounge bldg to connect both sides. I'd love to see it happen someday.

It is wouldn't necessarily have to though depending on what the route would be.
I think the biggest issue would be the monorail track, but also not something that would be big enough of a problem to kill a peoplemover project altogether.

Kinda random thought here. This drawing shows an addition to the north corner of the Communicore/Innoventions West building as discussed earlier. I also added new walk ways to FW East and West from the front of the park, similar to the Main St bypass concept:

Expect new names, severe internal modelling and new cosmetic exteriors. New store in the Mousegear space. Room for Starbucks to get bigger.

A modest expansion to the north west and possibly one to the north east. North west to gain an "expo" feel (not Stark) and Electric Umbrella space consolidated although the kitchen should stay the same, albeit remodelled.
Muppets retheme to Electric Umbrella with same crappy food?

Will the upper level in Electric Umbrella go away? If I'm not mistaken that is the last remaining mezzanine left.
If they were able to make the courtyard into something beautiful, I could see an upper level/mezzanine high-end restaurant working well. Make it – as others have suggested – some kind of a creative gastronomy bistro, something that isn't offered inside a theme park in WDW.

Whatever they build, I hope they create a nearly 360 degree space that can accommodate projections, as well as projections on SSE, which along with a renewed fountains creates a night time spectacle.

Come on build Muppet Labs what could be more future than Muppet Labs :) I really think any changes they make will be an improvement to what we have now!!

So, I guess when the plans Martin speaks of come to fruition, it will be the end of the Epcot I've known throughout my whole life. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. The Epcot I've known up to this point is neglected, lost, and full of bad design decisions. While the future may not recapture the glory of EPCOT Center of the 80s, it will certainly be brighter than the park's current state.

Don't bet on it Disney over and over has proven to be the company that can screw up a free lunch. It's likely to be worse than we imagine or can imagine.

Yes
I wish they'd advertise the colour attraction (sorry, can't remember the name!) more. It's a great little novelty & it's hardly used as nobody knows it's there.
I don't think Colortopia is getting much advertisement because Disney is trying to let Innoventions die quietly. Even when the pavilion was at its peak, none of the attractions really had advertisements. Sum of All Thrills was the exception

I wish they would do this. There's nothing back stage in those areas that would prevent them from opening up those two areas to guests. It would also boost interest in two areas of the park that are fairly slow and it would make exiting the park a little easier at the end of the night. They would have to do something so there's still retail opportunities for exiting guests but I don't think it would have to be elaborate as Epcot isn't really setup like MK or DHS with the big push on a merchandise corridor anyway.

@marni1971 Any idea if the new plans will feature guest walk ways in these areas?
