I agree with those that have listed Trail's End and Raglan Road. Also, even though it's a counter service, I love the fact that I walk into Captain Cook's and get Tonga Toast.

I agree with Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's at the Poly. It's half the price as in the Kona Cafe, yet just as yummy. Also agree with Trails End for great fried chicken and sangria. :slurp: Also, The Plaza Restaurant at MK is great if you have an ADR. Nice, relaxing sit down and healthy options. Mickey sundays were included in the kid's meals and they loved the Mickey shaped turkey sandwiches.

I like Earl of Sandwich too, but I can't bring myself to eat there when I am in WDW because it is my favorite spot to eat at in vegas. Plus it is just a chain and I like to stay away from chains while I am at WDW.

Captain Cooks is my spot. Tonga toast and dole whips in one spot!

I must put my vote in for Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's. It's great sitting outside by the pool... what a perfect way to start a day! My husband would say the best "secret" dining is the turkey dinner from the All Star Music food court. I also love afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian - great food, beautiful atmosphere, neat view.

I would have to say the Grand Floridian Cafe. It is such a nice break from MK, and is rarely crowded at lunch.

I have found the food very good, and with nice variety as well.

We need time for things to happen.
It used be...

....Earl of Sandwich..Not so much of a secret anymore. Still a great sandwich and I'm surprised to hear that's a chain.

Last visit though...new secret....Wolf Gang Puck's Express.

A DELICIOUS MEAL and as far as a TS credit one of the absolute best values around!

Turf Grill at Saratoga makes a tasty steak, and only ever seems to come close to being busy during peak times. I'm not even sure free dining is ever an issue for it.

The Wolfgang Puck's Express in the DTD Marketplace is open for breakfast - don't think the one on the West Side is. I've gone there three times for breakfast, it's never been busy, the food is excellent and made to order, and even though it only uses a table-service credit, it's akin to "half" a table service restaurant, in that you order and pay up front, get your original beverage, but then they bring the food to your table, and will periodically check in to make sure you're OK, offer to top off beverages, & bus the table for you when you're done (so don't be stingy and leave at least a couple of bucks :D ). I've also never seen it terribly busy for dinner. AND you can call ahead and they'll plate your order "to go." For people staying at the SSR, close to the Congress Park section and planning a night in the room or on the resort grounds, this is, IMHO, calling ahead to WPE and picking up dinner to eat back in your room is far preferable to going to Artists' Palette. Better choices, and usually MUCH less of a wait. Calling ahead to WPE, walking over, picking up and walking back, you'll still probably start eating faster than going to AP.

We loved Boatwrights for breakfast also, so sorry that is gone. I could eat there everyday.

On our last trip we discoverd Staring Rolls Cafe and my husband loved it, it loves his cinnamon rolls.

We also discoverd Min and Bill's Dockside cafe. I think that's the name. I had the best chicken ceaser salad sandwich there. So yummy:slurp: I am counting down the days till I can eat there again. I am looking forward to trying their other sandwiches.

I'll second that, seems a lot don't realize there's actually nice table service tucked behind the Ice Cream Parlor.... DANG I told them where it was :lookaroun

I'll add a third vote for Plaza Restaurant here. Fantastic sandwiches that can easily feed two. Then you can finish with an ice cream before heading back out.
