What do you expect from Gaston's?

I was talking to some people the other day and I think once this place opens there are going to be a lot of people going in expecting to find a beer. I can just imagine how many people are going to go to City Hall and saying "It's called Gaston's Tavern, and you don't serve beer!!??" I know there are already many people complaining about the lack of beer there is in the Magic Kingdom. Can't wait to see what happens when this place opens:)
So how many people expect beer in Liberty tree tavern then? We dont need beer in the magic kingdom you can get a buzz on at the other parks

Personally, I'll probably enjoy TWWoHP much more, but that's because it was designed for me.

Not saying I won't enjoy Fland, just that I'll like Potter more.

Plus, Potter has wands.

Plus both lands will be targetting two totally different demographics.

I'll enjoy both for different reasons but the park really needs a Gaston's. Fantasyland needs some butching up to appeal to young boys and their Dads- like me!

I think right now Harry Potter will probably be a better land, my biggest gripe with it is that it gets way too congested. I think FLE will actually reduce congestion through fantasyland.

Twenty years from now, however, I think that FLE will still be doing well and HP and IOA will be looking at doing a different movie/theme.

As for Gaston's, i expect it to be options like burgers, chicken tenders, maybe a venison dish (one can only hope). really wish you could get a brew there! Probably will have rootbeer similar to butter beer at WWofHP.

LOL - you had me spitting out my coffee! :ROFLOL:

I would love for Gaston's to have a rustic French menu - something to contrast with the more elegant offerings likely to be found at Be Our Guest. Items like beef burgandy, ratatouille, roasted fowl with french herbs, onion soup, artisan bread and cheese, and some good (non-alcoholic) sparkling cider.

Again, the WDW interpretation of this menu will likely translate to burgers (beef burgandy for the modern peasant!) with processed American cheese and mass-produced white buns (Just cuz' it's American don't mean it's not artisan!), turkey legs (it's gamey, right?), french fries (they're oh-so-french, and qualify as a vegetable!), onion rings (so much crunchier than french onion soup) and root beer (cuz' it's got BEER in the NAME!). I will hold onto this, lowest expectation, so that I can be fabulously surprised and delighted at whatever the menu turns out to be!

*UPDATE on 6/27/2012* Now that the menu for "Be Our Guest" has been released, which includes hot sandwiches, french onion soup, french fries, etc., I'm revising my opinion on what Gaston's will likely serve to include only typical American-style appetizers and bar snacks. But if anyone with the power to define those things is reading this: can I also suggest that in addition to those turkey legs in the concept art, you include root beer floats; sparkling cider slushies; chicken wings with a trio of French sauces; fried mushroom, artichoke and cheese kebabs; BBQ meatball lollipops, and/or fruit tarts?

A disappointing missed opportunity for coming up with their own brew but amazing atmosphere. If the food is up to par with the rest of WDW's offerings, then it'll be perfect.
