What did you do?

It's looking like Mondays are NOT good for snagging a treadmill after work, so I rode the bike instead. I can't say I blame people for coming in from running outside (it's cold and dark here now at 5 pm and snow is predicted for tomorrow) but they are really messing with my schedule. Luckily I'm not really training for anything at the moment so if I get in two evenings of running after work instead of three it isn't the end of the world ;)

@JillC LI - that is so great for your son! What a way to finish his high school career on a high!

Training Half Marathon distance yesterday, deliberate slower pace. Did a 2:04, which is good considering how I spent the night before :)

BTW last weekend I did a 17 miler on Saturday, worst run of my life. By mile 13 I was ready to throw in the towel. I ran by our local Pepsi plant and an employee spotted me and brought me two bottled waters :) I must have looked pathetic.

As much as they stink at the time, just finishing that training run made you stronger and better prepared to handle any rough patch that may come along in the actual race. You know you can survive that kind of exhaustion and keep going til you finish.

Thanks. I'm a proud mom. Plus it's nice that this is the one sport that he and I can really connect on.

Taking the week off after the Lumiere Challenge. Start training for Light Side Half this weekend.

Got back from Florida and it's cold! What's up with that?

3.5m on TM Saturday. Couldn't enter the local town 10K this year because I had a meeting Saturday morning, but DS entered again and won first place in his age group (16-19) with a 41:40 finish time.

5 miles Saturday to start Star Wars training. We're under a smoke alert from the southern wildfires but skies are clear. Couldn't figure out if the faint burning smell was from the fires or just fireplaces in my neighborhood. Hoping I get to run with the super moon this week.

I've been AWOL from this thread waaay too long.....

@Texas84, aren't you loving the cooler mornings those of us below the Mason-Dixon line are getting? We've been smelling smoke in my part of North Florida also. But it's not been cold enough yet to use fireplaces, so we must be getting some of the smoke from those fires. It's been so dry these last few weeks

2.75 miles at 14:55 average pace this AM. Little slow since I underwent that medical procedure yesterday that requires clear liquids for 24 hours and two of the worst tasting prep liquids known to man (was that TMI? ;) ). Something all you youngsters will look forward to when you pass that 5th decade mark.

Decided to break in my new Asics Nimbus 18 shoes I bought at the Fit2Run store in Disney Springs. Aren't they pretty? And will be perfect for the Princess Half in February.

Very nice this morning. Had to break out the tights.
