What did you do?

Nursing my knee. Was all better from injury this summer, but after I pushed it a bit in a 10k in September its been touch and go. Short run on friday and I'll plan to run tomorrow. I just wish my ½ was sooner. I'm torn with how much to run for the next month.

Was at the world for the last few days, so actual workouts were shot. Snuck in a 20min run one night, but most of the workouts were walking round the parks, carrying/chasing 35lb DS around the parks. Today did 2.25@2i, .66@10, .66@9, .91@8. Slow pace, but I'm hacking stuff up which is fun. Have a half marathon this weekend so mostly want to clear that out beforehand.

4 miles yesterday outdoors. GLorious Fall weather. Barely had enough time to finish and contemplated waiting until today, but I forced myself to put on my running clothes. That ALWAYS gets me out the door.

Whenever I read this thread title I cringe because I haven't done anything. Both knees have been replaced and the doctor says no running so I decided that I'll start back to swimming. It's only been 2 weeks in the pool but feeling better already. Should have started this a while ago.

Sorry about the knees. Babying mine so I don't have problems later.

Maybe we should add a "Swim Disney" page. The Bay Lake Plunge might not be a hit, but Nemo's Relay or Ariel's Aquatics might work!

Was this your DS's first trip to WDW? How old is he? How did he like it?

It was number 2 actually, he went down with us for the Marathon in Jan and will be going back down again for the Marathon in next Jan. Went at 14mo, 23mo, and will go again at 26mo. So 3 trips before we need to pay for him. : ) This one was kind of a mixed bag. He had an absolute blast running through fountains and playing at the pool, and actually pointed out the rides he wanted to do like Tea Cups and Carousel. And he loved clapping/dancing to the various musical acts, and actually made us go back and listen to Matsuriza after they woke him up from his nap. But some things he loved last time like characters, he was kinda meh on this time. The whole time we waited for Tigger & Pooh we had to hold him back, he was jumping all over the place pointing at them "Pooh!" "Tig tig!" and was all excited. But then when we got up there he was all shy and hiding in our arms. Last trip he chased them around 1900 Park Fare for 30 mins trying to grab them, so a bit of a different reaction.

Aww, that's so sweet. One of the great things about repeat trips to WDW with your kids is to see how their focus changes. Our early trips were all about meeting characters. Then we had a trip that was all about pin trading. Then they started to focus on thrill rides. It's been an evolution, but always special.

As for me and running, 3.5 miles last night. 80 degrees and muggy in late October!

Yeah, looking forward to see the small changes over a few months, but also looking to have the grand parents there to help. That will be nice to be able to pass him over for a few hours.

9 miles at 9:58 through Medford, Arlington, Winchester, and Woburn. Today is the last warm day before the cold comes and we have to turn on the furnace for good. Mostly this is good for running.

5K Saturday at the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds in Macon GA. 49F and windy! One of the tents blew over at finish. Luckily no one was hurt.

Feeling good and was on pace to smash my PR. Mile 2 had a hill, got to the top and seemed like my lungs stopped working and had to walk for a minute. Never experienced that sensation before. Weird. Started back after I caught my breath and passed a few more people. Finished about 20 seconds slower than my PR.

Nice downhill finish. That mound in the background is known as the Earth Lodge, the council and ceremonial chamber.

Had a half on Sunday, 1:54, 8:45/mile ish. Well off my pace, but considering a) was hacking stuff up all week and b) last full meal ended up being on Thursday (at something off on Friday), I'll take it. And I'm sure the 20mph head winds we had for a few miles didn't help too much. Bike today.

Awesome. I'd take 1:54, but I'd have to sell my soul to the devil first! ;)

6 miles Saturday morning in a steady rain. Ran well though. And another 3.5 miles last night on the TM. Wanted to run outside, but life kept interfering, and I couldn't actually run until 8:15pm when it was too dark for my taste outdoors.

Weird experience but strong finish. Congrats.

Nice job, especially considering you were under the weather.
