Good luck with your Dopey!10 miles today. Felt good ran at a 11 minute mile. I am going to run Dopey starting day after Christmas.

How far in advance does one train for the following year’s Dopey?2 more treadmill miles this morning then upper-body strength. I'm trying to get back into a routine before buckling-down for Dopey 2022.

Exactly. I was always running W&D so that had me ready for Dopey training. One year we had bad weather and I only got to 18 miles, but that's OK.I will essentially need to half-train then full train so...many MANY weeks of training next year.

Good luck with your Dopey! Maybe one of these days that will be my next challenge. After, I run most of these race weekends virtually.Nope...I mean 2022. My "training" right now is being consistent at the gym and cross/strength training. Longer miles come later. I will probably SLOWLY start upping my mileage in the spring. I tend to get hurt so I have to train longer than most people and I also lack ambition for long runs. Dopey will be my 1st full and I plan on that being my main focus in 2021
Was genuinely curious to I went to the runDisney’s website took a look at the Galloway training plan and saw that the Dopey was a whopping 29 weeks.
To put that in perspective if you wanted to run Dopey virtually and used the Galloway plan you would of had to started training on June 17.
I personally, am seeing that the Galloway plans work well for me so I’ll probably keep using them for future races.
When you think about it I guess it’s not that unreasonable. My fairytale challenge plan is 18 weeks long (technically 19 if you can’t the week after).29 weeks isn't surprising. It's...a lot.
We used to have an Ultra runner on here who never trained for Dopey. But he ran 20 miles almost every day.So you have to do a half marathon training plan before you start the proper Dopey? That is a long training cycle.
