What did you do?

Just got back from a five-day cruise! Awesome time of fun and relaxing with some girl friends. But I was up and in the gym at 6:30 every morning working out. And ran 5 miles on the treadmill Sunday morning. Nothing hurt. Nothing was sore. It was the first time I really thought I could do this!

Wow, up at 6:30am every day on a cruise?! That's more devotion than I had on the cruise we went on 2 years ago. I managed to squeeze in one TM run and one on-deck run, and I was pleased with myself. Glad to hear everything feels good.

Nothing since last Weds except for the ToT10Miler, plus way to much walking around the parks. 1:18 ish for the ToT, was hoping for a 1:10, but no way to prepare for the heat/humidity unless you run in it more often I guess.

Still a very nice race time nonetheless. Hope you enjoyed your trip.

One of my friends who was on the cruise with me is training for a half in North Carolina the same day as the WDW Half, so she was meeting me in the gym every day. Accountability is a good thing!

4 mile on my hills day. My knees have not been happy with me lately so I know I will be feeling it later today. 9:36 pace.

3.65 miles on TM this morning. Speedwork. Felt like I had some gas left in the tank when I finished the planned number of reps so threw in one more rep for good measure. Felt strong.

Sub 8 minute mile in that heat and humidity is fine in my book. Nice job.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'll take it with minimal complaints. It was a fun trip, but would it have killed WDW to make it a few degrees cooler? High 80s in October is crazy.

Today was bike cross training. Shifting morning workouts back a day this week as I try to play catchup on sleep. Staying out til 4am at the race post party followed the next day by MNSSHP then an 11PM flight arrival leads to screwy sleep schedules.

Just got back from WDW last night. The day we left, I ran the Brewers Mini Marathon in the morning. It was the first organized race I'd run since April. It wasn't my best race, but I felt good through the run. I want to get focused on running again...it's been too long

@ariel84 - Glad you enjoyed the race after all. No harm in taking a break from racing. I run all the time but don't race too often.
Thanks for the response...I used to think that I needed an upcoming race on my calendar to stick with it, but I haven't been looking forward to races very much lately, so I think it's hindering more than helping at this point. Sounds like a break is in order! :)

No running this week since I flaired up my 460 mile hip injury. Just riding my bike. Saturday however, I have a client who i have to run 31 miles with. That should be...interesting.

Next week I start running again, starting off with a 40 miler :D

Squeezed in a 3.65 mile run before work Wednesday. Not too bad. Low 70s to start, about 77 at finish. Forgot to bring a water bottle and started to pay for it midway though as it got kind of warm.

Speed work. Started with 1200@5:44/mi, then increased pace with each set 1000,800,600, last was 400@5:34/mi. Along with warm up/cool down.

Don't know many people that can take a week off, and then jump right into a 30+ mile run. Damn man....
