Glad to see you back Nick.
This morning was going to be 3 mile speed work. My daughter Rivers was up a lot last night and tried to spoil my morning. Speed work was a little changed up. I was very tired starting out so I adapted. I tried to speed up as I went by 30 seconds per mile. I guess i did pretty good with my internal speedometer.
1 - 8:46
2 - 8:18
3 - 7:44
I' m so damned jealous of that internal speedometer of yours - even more of that than of your speed! Even when I finish this training program and am (hopefully) able to run a sub 28 min 5K, I'm worried that my pace will be all over the map and I'll crash and burn too early. For instance, this morning I did a short tempo workout on the treadmill. The meat of it was 1.5 miles at 9:18, .5 miles slow, another 1.5 miles at 9:18. It was tough for me to finish the second leg, and I did it, but if I didn't have the treadmill forcing me to stay on pace, I don't think I would have been able to pull it off based on an internal sensor. Well, at least I'm doing what I'm supposed to and hopefully things will fall into place on race day.
Oh, and 12 miles on the stationary bike last night.
Welcome back Nick. I assume by your increased mileage that you're feeling better. At least I hope so.
