Anyway, if you want to read a good book [well its my fave anyway] read Lion Boy, there's 3 altogether, but they should definetely be made into Disney Films!!!!

I have read most of the Phillipa Gregory books, they are wonderfully entertaining. I am now reading the Six Wives of Henry the VIII by Alison Weir and am enjoying it very much. I seem to have an affection for this period.

That Alison Weir book is wonderful! I read that about six years ago or so, and it is so chocked full of details, it's crazy. I tried reading one of hers on Elizabeth I, and maybe I was just being lazy, but I got too bogged down in the political details and I lost interest.

I'm definitely a Tudor England fan! Actually, I love British history in general, but that period just captures my imagination.

He's one of my favorite authors. All his books are very entertaining. I particularly liked Exile, too.

I have an obsession with this period!:lookaroun Makes my DH crazy ! I also read The Life of Elizabeth I and The Princes in the Tower. I enjoyed them both. I am also watching the Tudors on ShowTime , at times a bit too far fetched. Entertaining non-the-less!!:D

Mine is actually Disney related, sort of.

My son is reading The Once and Future King in English, which I also had to read many, many years ago, and parents were encouraged to read and discuss it with them. (I think it's also because some parents might object to some of the content, even at the HS level.)

The movie, The Sword in the Stone, was loosely based upon this book.

It's interesting how my perception of the characters has changed, vs 40 years ago, and how different a teenage boy's viewpoint is.

Just got done reading the Hobbit, again. I think I have read that book every other year since 1982. Still a good read.

Looking at either re-reading Watership Down or working on a new series. Can not remember the author at this moment but the main character is Mitch Rapp. A counter terrorism operative who shoots first and asks question later.

So, it is either a story about bunnies or killing terrorists. . .:king:

Considering my line of work Watership Down sounds like an interesting read. Thanks for the recommendation.

Watership Down is a great book that I hope will be re-made into a movie. I say re-made because I believe a 2-d version is out there somewhere. With the improvements in CG, I would think it is time for a new version of Watership Down.

Like the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings books, I have read Watership over 10 times since the 80's. Enjoy it every time.

I'm reading through the entire Harry Potter series for the 3rd time. Every time I finish book 7 I just go right back to book 1 and start over. It never gets old.

I am sort of a multiple reader as well. I am currently reading "Parallel world's" by Michio Kaku(not that I understand much of it), "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow, and I am sort of re-reading "Parmenedes" by Plato.

The best book I've read lately - and I read a LOT! - is "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. It's just terrific - well-plotted, articulate, and fascinating. It begins with a murder, but almost every assumption the reader makes about that murder will turn out to be wrong. The book even has a happy ending!
