Trip Report We are GROOT!

Hello friends! Well it has finally arrived and the five of us are packed up and headed to Disney World for a mega trip. We are on the road now and stopping in Columbia, South Carolina for the night. (Max we also have 2 Toyotas)We left a little later than we wanted to because our 2 cats, sensing our departure, escaped outside.

The cast is the same as usual, my crazy Disney family, my husband, Den, my oldest son Hunter, 18, middle child Camden, 11, Brinley, 7 and me, Deighton! Hunter graduated from highschool on June 2 and is doing a year at community College to get his prerequisites out of the way. Our extended trip is his graduation present. (His choice! Who am I to say no.) Plenty of details to come! Happy Thursday everyone! Woohoo!!

I was just thinking about the average number of phones that get "lost" every day, within the WDW property. Can't even imagine. But, it would make for a fun little contest, and the winner gets: a free drink!

Everything comes with a price! I had more oysters, too!

Yesterday everyone was moving slow. I made breakfast and fed the beasts. The kids really just wanted to swim but the weather report was calling for rain.

Off we headed to Disney Springs at 1 pm. We had no real agenda except lunch reservations at The Boathouse at 330. Hunter headed to the lego store, Den and Cam went to the surf shop, and Brin and I went in search of another art kit.

Cam had success!! Water lacrosse sticks. Cam is an avid lacrosse player to such an extreme that he has a lacrosse stick wherever he goes including in the house and it is annoying but I am proud of him for being dedicated and having a passion!

This is the art kit Brin got yesterday. She and Den are the artists in the house. The two always have a project of some kind going.

Hunter's passion is music and he is talented! He is very excited because a new trumpet has been delivered to the house. He bought a lego kit. The kids are all happy with their purchases.

We still had an hour to kill and made a great find! Wine Bar George is amazing. We may wind back up there today. I had 2 spicy bloody marys made with Charleston bloody mary mix and spicy pincture bitters.

Den had a glass of red wine and a negroni with chocolate bitters. Chocolate bitters has been a new find for Den this trip. I recommend it strongly and will be picking some up for the bar for certain.

The bartender Bryce is very talented and knowledgeable. I appreciate the time he spent with us. He said the wine list at Wine Bar George is in the top 3 in the world.

It is pretty cool how they sell it by the once!

This appetizer was simple and delicious. Warmed Greek Olives with garlic and chili flakes I believe. I will be recreating this back home for sure!

It really is comical to look around and see people just going through the motions of life. I love the dentist office reference! Thanks for following!

We made our way over. It was still sprinkling but it poured while we were in wine bar. Things may start to get a little fuzzy here. During our 2 hour stay here I was all over the board.

Blueberry lemonade to start. It was sweet so I added water a few times. Den was driving so he nursed a negroni.

Next up i had this blood orange wheat beer. Nothing to write home about. It was ok. Would I get it again? Nope. I had a pinot noir and then a Bailey's and coffee! And he left his phone! Needless to say I was very entertaining!

This was a feast of oysters, shrimp, appetizers and a giant dessert that half came back with us! If my gang can't eat a dessert it is Huge!

There are 5 different types of oysters at the Boathouse. We ended up trying all 5. The first one was the Dixon point oysters and ended being our favorite along with shrimp cocktail.

Great white were up next.

Pink Moon were our second favorites. I guess at this point I stopped taking pictures of oysters
The kids had chips with salsa and a pimento cheese dip.

We also all shared this yellowfin appetizer which was delicious! Tuna, Wasabi, melon and avocado.

I love the kids meals at The Boathouse. Cam had mac n cheese and Brin ate a burger.

Den had the seared Tuna with Wasabi and Sriracha and loved it but said it was so salty. This is where the alcohol got to me! I ordered steak in a fish restaurant!

The server said it was some of the best steak on property. I had the boneless ribeye. It was good but certainly not great!

Hunter had the filet mignon sliders and he definitely enjoyed them.

Much of this came back with us and eaten for a midnight stack by the boys while I was "sleeping".

We made our way out DS and headed back to the Vistana. That was when Den realized he had no phone. The kids went swimming. Cam of course had to try out his new lacrosse sticks. We went back to The Boathouse and had ANOTHER not needed drink and oysters. The last on our list to try. They are called the Salty Mainer for a reason!

I never realized how much I love oysters!

We came back and I am told watched the kids swim. It is 11 am and it is time for me to get moving and suck up this hangover on my last day!

At this point the kids and adults went separate ways. Den and I went on our own adventure.

We are on the way back to the Boardwalk now. Brin is awake!

I may have posted this before, but, Carolyn (my better half) rode ToT once. Came off in tears. Never again.
However, I’ll drink to ToT, as I love it…!!!
