I would prefer December because I love the Holiday Season. I love seeing the Parks decorated and going to the different hotels to see how they are decorated also. Plus there is the Processional and the MVMCP as an added bonus.

Good going Pam :sohappy: This is a great thread!

I chose October...I love WDW during the holidays but I found that the weather is hit or miss, and the parks are usually packed to the gills. (Psst...don't forget those unbelievable Osborne Lights :) )

I've been in October on 2 separate occassions and had nothing but fantastic weather (clear days and temps in the low-mid 80's). The lines are at most 10 minutes (if that).
Not only that, but you have the Halloween party, halloween decorations, and *cough* (Universal has HHN) *cough*

Right you are! Let's not forget those lights! October (Halloween) would be my second choice. My husband prefers this time of year because he likes the NSSHP. Let's not forget the Food and Wine festival also. My eldest daughter and I loved the paella from the Spanish Pavillion.:slurp:

December

A lot of people on the boards are in school and a lot have family members that are in school, so sometime when school is not in session would seem to work the best. Also December because it's the most wonderful time of the year and what better place to celebrate/share that than Disney World!

January.

1. It's cheaper.
2. Not so busy.
3. We're on Summer vacation down here, so it's easier to spend more time.

I also love December, the parks are great all decorated, but Julia works till the end of the month, so it's no good.
Another possibility would be July so we could enjoy the water parks, but it's just too busy.

Guys... if we were to do this in December i would have to tell my annual pass dates, Its a seasonal one and it has blackout dates, If we could do it in December i would have to do it sometime early in there and not around Christmas so i dont get blacked out! :brick: :(

Anyways, December sounds good with me, Mission Space Soft Openings month would be good to whenever that is! lol

I love going in October for a couple reasons. Great weather, short lines for just about everything, Food and wine festival, and the Halloween Party! Did the Halloween party in 2001. I loved it. anybody who goes in october has to go to the Halloween party.
Im going again this October. I cant wait. Have a great day everyone!

i vote august, most people are just too busy around the holiday's with family, especially large families. begining of the year is back to school (my wife is a teacher) August is still at the end of the summer, the parks are opened the longest and fireworks are on almost every night, yet florida kids are readying to go back to school.

This is a nice idea that has been around for a while. There had been some small gatherings already when people´s vacations have coincidentally been at the same time. It think the easiest way to do it is posting when you are going to be on vacation to see who else will be at the same time there, then go for a drink or meet at the park for lunch or so depending on who is meeting who. At least in my case, I wouldn´t plan a vacation just for a slight chance of meeting someone from an internet forum that may or may not show up. I don´t mean to sound rude or anything, but I´m just being realistic. Maybe locals can have the luxury of doing so, but others wouldn´t, and internationals like me, even less!... :animwink: When I go back to Orlando, I´ll let you all know and if anyone will be around, just tell me and we will meet then.

If we can do this, we would have to make the date for at least a year in advance in order to give everyone the chance to see if they can make it.

That´s what they did last time, Someone was going on vacation and told people about the date and whoever was able to be there, showed up, but it was during people´s vacations, so in case nobody showed up, it didn´t matter because it was still a planned vacation with a main purpose besides meeting wdwmagic people. :animwink:

OK, I flew down to meet my wdwmagic friends for the weekend. :) And it was in August for all the great reasons already listed: no school for me here in the north, and the parks were open late, and the Florida kids were back in school.... :)

And Maria, if you go, I'll do my best to get there! :D

(and this year, I apparently can't do *everything* with a wedding and a new house, so I heard a rumor WDW might not happen this year. :( Of course, I can use the memories of the last five visits to comfort me.... ;)

I will say October... I like that time of year.. as long as there are no Hurricanes. As far as people in High School, well, i guess it won't matter too much since most of you would not be able to get a ride down anyway, and if you live close enough, then you could meet up in the afternoon or on a weekend or something, so we can't factor that in very much. People who work, do so the whole year long, but are able to drive theirselves and take off when most others agree. Sorry, but it's a sad and hard fact of life. :(
