Well I'm trying to remain optimistic. They've got a great platform with the EVO, but I'm not a fan of boxy four-door sedans.
It makes sense that they could put a real sports car on that platform with less weight and a lower center of gravity than the EVO. Sell it for roughly $30,000, and the 350Z could have some serious competition.
I've never had a problem with the
looks of the Eclipse. But the performance never matched the looks. And from what I've heard of this new concept, they basically used and EVO platform, so while the concept has a diesel (that likely won't make it to production soon) a production coupe based on the EVO could be brought to market relatively quickly if they decide to.
