Chrysler Introduces New 'Best-in-Industry' Lifetime Powertrain Warranty
on Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge Vehicles

* The New Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty – the first from an OEM and the longest in the industry – is a statement of confidence in the reliability of Chrysler products
* Warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair covered powertrain components – engine, transmission and drive system
* Provides worry-free ownership for new Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge owners

Auburn Hills, Mich., Jul 26, 2007 - Chrysler today announced that the Company would extend its powertrain warranty from the 3-year/36,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty to a new Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. The new Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty applies to most new Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge vehicles purchased from dealer inventory and delivered on or after July 26, 2007.

The Lifetime Powertrain Warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair covered powertrain components – engine, transmission and drive system. The new powertrain warranty is limited to the first registered owner or retail lessee. Customers should contact dealers for details on vehicle selection.

"This new Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty is a statement of confidence to our customers to the reliability of their powertrain. It's peace-of-mind reassurance for as long as they own the vehicle," said Steven Landry, Executive Vice President – North America, Sales and Marketing, Service and Parts, Chrysler Group.

To continue warranty coverage, the owner must have a powertrain inspection performed by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealer once every 5 years. This inspection will be performed at no charge. The inspection must be made within 60 days of each 5-year anniversary of the warranty start date of the vehicle.

Landry added, "The new Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty underscores our focus on quality and customer satisfaction. It demonstrates our commitment to customers and the confidence we have in our ability to produce quality, reliable and durable vehicles. That's why we put 'lifetime' on it."

Customers may visit Chrysler.com, Jeep.com and Dodge.com for more information. A warranty promotion – print, radio, television and Internet – begins Friday, July 27.

im looking for opinions on getting a better car, some might think im crazy but hey oh well lol

anyhow i won a 2006 chevy cobalt thru my job about a year ago,i like the car,its the sporty 2 door coupe, but its a very base model (i didnt know they still made manual locks and windows)and ive run into a few probs with it (2 recalls-once for faulty fuel injectors, another time for a faulty impact point to deploy the airbag).

So im looking to upgrade to a cadillac either a mid 00's deville or a mid 00s CTS im trying to find some pros and cons in regards to both, any help is greatly appreciated :)

Brian,

Have you heard about this legislation trying to ban after-market exhausts in Mass.?

http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=62241

NO! I hadn't!

I like this one though (kinda makes me chuckle).

H.B. 3574 fails to recognize that aftermarket exhaust systems offer increased performance, which can make a vehicle safer by improving its ability to merge, pass, travel uphill, etc.

(it also makes it unsafer by improving it's speed with the possibility of having an unqualified driver behind the wheel) It's like a "Move along people, there's nothing to see over on THIS side of the fence." kinda statement.)

I'm completely against this bill though.

I have used that argument more seriously though when people have asked me if I feel safe in the small cars I usually drive.

I actually feel much safer in a car that's light enough to turn, brake and accelerate away from trouble than a huge SUV that may offer more protection in a crash, but also more probability of a crash.

Obviously this is Ford's answer to GM's/Caddy's CTS.

Its sharp lookin... I will give it that.

Those headlights look like they came right off of a new Saab.

It's decent looking but I like the CTS a heckuva lot better.

I'm a little torn on the new M3's. The 3 series is just getting too big for my tastes, and I've never liked the idea of a V8.

I'm finding myself more interested in the 135i.

I also like this (though I'm afraid I'm getting to old for it - I may have to get the M3 just because it's more age-appropriate than the cars I really like:lookaroun):

Gary, since when has "age appropriate" stopped you?

Well that's actually why I got the 3 series. I felt like I should try a more "grown-up" car, but within a few weeks I was regretting it. While it's not a huge car, it's the biggest, heaviest car I've ever had.

I realized after I got it I much preferred Linda's E46.

In other news, went to the VW dealer on saturday with my Uncle... who can be a wee bit impulsive.

He drove back in an R32 GTI (mother!@#$@#%@#%@#!!@!!!!!~!!!!!) after deciding between that an a Fahrenheit GTI and I drove the Acura back with my jaw hanging somewhere around my waist.

CPO E46 M3? :D

I don't like buying a car anyone else has farted in . . . certified or otherwise.:lookaroun

I did toy with the idea of snapping up one of my dealers last E46 M3's, but that would have been a little crazy.

I'm anxious to drive the 135i and see how that feels. My boss has the 335i coupe, and the thought of that engine in a smaller car seems like a good idea.:D
