California Grill - on to the main course.

Oak-fired Fillet Of Beef - with Tillamook Cheddar Gratin, broccolini, and teriyaki barbecue. Verdict - pass. I was not impressed with the presentation. The fillet, while still lacking taste (as do all fillets) also lacked the fillets characteristic tenderness. It amounted to a plate of chewy teriyaki sauce.

I can't find this on any menus. It is a vegetable ravioli in a creamy corn sauce with mushrooms and truffles. My daughter was very happy with this one. She loved the sauce and asked the waiter what was in it (cream, pureed sweet corn, and some other stuff - basically a sweet corn bisque)

Kids Oak-fired Steak - with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables

Much better than my steak. This was a strip. Tasted like a strip (i.e it HAD taste) it was not smothered in overpowering sauce, and the potatoes and beans were done well too. Simple food prepared simply and done well (A really nice kids menu offering for $13)

And finally, California Grill Dessert

Chocolate Creme Brulee. Normally I am not a chocolate fan, and I think brulee is overdone on every menu (just like fillet) But in this case I went for it anyway. Can I just say, yes, you should all be very jealous. Go lick your screens now. :)

Valrhona Chocolate Cake - Warm chocolate cake w/molten center, black cherry ice cream. My daughter loved the cake, but does not like black cherries. Somehow she missed that on the menu.

Kids ice cream with chocolate sauce (yeah, and my 9 y/o orders tea too, thats why the cup is in the background)

And that concluded the California Grill

I've made the cheddar cheese soup at home too and nothing against Le Cellier, but I liked mine better. Maybe because I throw in more bacon in mine.

Thanks,

But I have two daughters :)

I think that makes it even worse. Seriously, my oldest daughter (11) is the one I have no worries about. My 9 y/o is the one that scares me. She is a great kid and is up for just about anything, but she has no fear and no concept of self preservation. Not a good mix.

Phonedave - thanks for the Cali Grill pics. That Tuna 3 way looks yummmy. I haven't been to Cali Grill since 2004 and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. Hubby ordered the filet' and said it was delicious, so I wonder if the quality has gone down slightly over the years?

And DVCnut39, thanks for the O'hana pics. My mom and I are trying O'hana for the first time during our trip next February. I am really looking forward to it. Mainly I want to try the bread and the bread pudding.

oops so sorry lol. my kids are now grown 26 son and soon to be 21 daughter) my son is the social butterfly but my daughter sounds a lot like your youngest...up for anything, no fear, very self confident and outrageous. we survived the teen years by keeping her extra busy (mainly in competitive cheerleading) so she had an outlet for her personality but was to tired otherwise to get into trouble lol. for good or bad my 6 year old granddaughter seems to have the traits of both of them.
