You can`t compare Potter and TLM. That`s like putting Spiderman and iasw head to head.

Potter could well rewrite the theme park attraction experience if it all comes together.

What I love about the Little Mermaid is that we don't know much about it - except its going to be spectacular. An Eticket, $100million+, full of Animatronics, and is an omni-mover. I can't wait to have another Pirates and Haunted Mansion calibre experience. It's been way too long since something like this has been built, and I'm very interested to see how a 2011 version of a classic style Disney attraction can be built.

I'll be very interested to see Potter, however, I'm always scepticle of Universal actually delivering what they hype.

Should be an exciting couple of years ahead for Orlando! :)

I'm excited to see the new Harry Potter ride, I'm sure it will be spectacular when it opens. The unfortunate reality of the situation, however, is that in several years there's a good chance that it will have fallen to the same level of disrepair that Spider-Man suffers from. Which is much worse than the condition of anything we've seen at Walt Disney World over the past few years, even with Disney not adhering to the same maintenance standards that they used to.

I must be lucky, I've never had a problem with Spidey effects not working.

Of course I've never seen the Angler in Nemo, hopping Brer Rabbit, or a lot of other temperamental effects broken at Disney.

For the record, they were talking about Spiderman V. Midway in terms of technology. I make it a habit not to compare tech for attractions more than a year apart, so many nifty gizmos in terms of Ride Control and Programming pop up every month, soon if so much as a Fly sneezes it'll be recorded on a Computer somehow.

Also, Expedition Everest and Midway Mania also use PDAs to monitor the attraction, show systems, and programming elements in real time. The Yeti for example, has had it's program altered several times by WDI all the way from Glendale. Cool stuff.
I could have chosen any number of examples to make the point but I'm trying to use some discretion. TSMM uses the latest in industrial networking systems but it's nothing new within that world. Potter will introduce new technologies never before used in the industrial world or the theme park world. I'm not saying that the tech. is what will make Potter the best ride ever built. It's how the tech is being used. Much better than Test Track and certainly much better than TSMM.

Those Dementors are looking pretty sweet but when riders discover how they are presented it will elicit screams and laughter. When guests come face to face with some of the new projection technologies and how they will be integrated with the ride system it will amaze them. Have you ever been on Soarin' and wished the take off was longer? I think I'll shut up now.

I don't post in News & Rumors much, but oh my goodness this is making my inner Harry Potter geek come back out.

Agler is cool, it just looks like he's floating.

Rabbit...Hops. He was down last time, though.:(

Nice to see you pop in whylightbulb! Hope everything is going great with the project!
Hey! Actually the project is moving along relatively smooth. We have been cycling some of those behemoth vehicles and most of the show systems and scenic are in place. Disney will need to step up their game if they hope to have a chance at having the best ride in Orlando, much less the world.

Worked 2 weeks ago.
Someone had posted on here that Disney removed the fake foliage covering the arm mechanism and now it works more often.

It makes sense considering I looked at the AA and thought "why is the arm visible?"
