I have my doubts about this… they have also said that there would be a Tangled land but we haven’t seen any progress about this… The only thing that really happened was the Avengers Campus, which was fantastic. Lion King is my favorite Disney movie and would love if there was a land dedicated to this movie! So, If that is true I’m really happy to know ! Keep giving more information about this topic plss !
The Tangled area was shown in an official DLP video about the development progress released in the summer.

I know but, after that, they haven’t talked about it again, so, they didn‘t do nothing about the Tangled area and they are already planning another area ?
How do you know they haven’t done anything? The video was only made 2-3 months ago,.
It showed them walking through a building site, that’s all there was to show us. But that and Frozen were the only two areas mentioned.

They have already announced the Tnangled area in 2022… I’m not saying that the Lion King area is a bad idea. Has I said, LK is my favorite Disney movie, I just said that I dont know how they are going to make this area with already one in stand-by

I think you’re over-estimating the extent of the Tangled “land”. As far as I remember from the concept art it’s a tree, with a courtyard area. Probably a shop, a QS “eatery” / snack cart and maybe a meet and greet area. It looks like it’ll be a walk through area at one of the entrances to the whole lake area, where they currently have the info boards up (still showing Galaxy’s Edge).

Yeahhhh ! I remember it too ! But I think was mistaken… it wasn’t an area only for tangled. It was an new area with a Tangled attraction. The attraction was like the Mad tea party, but with boats. However, frozen would have a completely new area similar to the one that opened recently in hong kong Disneyland. I really want to see this area in DLP ! Would you rather Disney opened a FRozen themed area, or a LK area ?

Frozen is happening so that’s a moot point.

I’d rather Galaxy’s Edge than anything else. Because when we can’t go back to Florida, for whatever reason, DLP will still be doable.

If I can have Rise of the Resistance and an FoP ride system - of any theme - then I’d be happy.

In that I need to agree with you… GE would be a great area, specially when we are talking about the attractions…

id rather something unique not GE. I do like GE but they built 2 already, and RISE is great but give me something unique to the park as a draw for me to visit lol. And also more than 1 ride..... a smaller 1 ride version of Frozen Land or GE isnt doing anything to make me wanna visit DSP thas for sure.

Switching back the focus to the original topic. I am curious to get your opinions what you are expecting from a Lion King land & attraction in terms of creative execution & storytelling.

What role do you think should guests play as (human?) visitors of that land? What scenes & locations from the movie would you like to see? What would you like to see as the storyline of the attraction - a book-report style retelling of each of the main scenes of the movie or a new unique adventure that puts you as a guests in the middle of the action?

I am personally not a huge fan of book-report retelling of a movie as an attraction where guests are reduced to a passive role. It might have its appeal and be a safe option. Though I don't find it an particularly exciting or creative approach. It would be also a bit odd considering the LK's plot spans over many years and includes death scenes.

Maybe instead guests could be on a journey to Pride Rock - like the animals during the opening sequence - travelling through multiple locations of the movie. After some fun & thrilling encounters with characters from the movie, guest would just make it in time to Pride Rock for the famous ceremony where Simba gets presented.

I've probably said this way too many times on here already, but I don't think they can build a Lion King land that immerses you in the world of the film as that would be a naturalistic African landscape with some landmarks like Pride Rock and the Shadowlands. No shops, no restaurants, indeed no structures of any kind.

The only way I can envision what people are mentioning is a Lion King attraction set in an Africa-themed area. If that's the case, it seems like an odd choice for the Studios theme.

I completely agree.

Even if the GE for Paris had a light re-skin to the original trilogy, I imagine this would not be too labour-intensive. Generally the 'land' itself doesn't have to look any different, and it would give an exclusivity to the Paris version. I honestly think one of the main reasons GE at HS failed for me was the focus on a trilogy that just wasn't particularly enjoyed by fans. There's a reason why the original trilogy characters (and arguably Republic era, despite the backlash around that film trilogy) are leaps and bounds ahead of the most recently trilogy in terms of popularity.

It would be a great addition for WDS, and hopefully would mean we can get rid of all traces of the IP from Discoveryland. Kill two birds with one stone, as they say.

This all seems like wild fan speculation, that could fit in between other stories with a lot of wishful thinking thrown in (3rd park especially, I can't even imagine them considering that until WDSP has at least 2 more lands and Parc Disneyland has something new, what would be the point?)

Until there is evidence of an actual plan happening I remain skeptical (especially on an immersive Liong King land that will change our minds on everything 😂 )

Keep in mind the lead time for a park is long… if they are just starting now the park will be in the ballpark of 10 years away. And we all know Disney projects get pushed back and delayed. So a third park opening 2035-40 doesn’t sound too far fetched.
That's if they even go ahead with it, weren't they (Disney) in a similar situation in Hong Kong and they let it lapse, losing the future expansion land for a 2nd park?
