Fine. I guess I won't talk about how great JC skippers are, then.

But see...that does have to do with the JC!:p

Because it is obvious that Kilimanjaro drivers > Jungle Cruise skippers any day? :p  :animwink:

SAFARIS!!!!!!:fork:

I have a question for Sir Goofy:

Last fall we had a JC skipper that was totally out of character! I think he was just acting but his schtick was that of a pi$$ed off skipper. He was just smart alecky the whole time and yelled at people and shot the gun like 15 times at a hippo. It was really weird and at the end he just jumped off the boat and was like "Whatever..." and walked away. It seemed to us to be some sort of bored college program employee. Is this something some of the JC skippers do to amuse themselves?

Definitely not something that is normal, and even if it was his act, it isn't a good one. Did you report him to the managers or City Hall?

I havent been on the Jungle Cruise since the late 90s!

I'm pretty sure somewhere on here I read of a Timon & Pumba overlay of JC.. Is this still in the works?

I would love a Timon and Pumbaa Jungle Cruise. They're great characters and it would be love to listen to Nathan Lane's commentary throughout the ride. It could possibly become known for more funny quotes than MuppetVision 3D!

Yes. Scarily, it was.

Depending on how done, it could be pretty cool. Obviously you're privy to more details than I, but if it were just a realistic looking warthog positioned next to a realistic looking meerkat, it would've been fine. Let the skippers run with it from there.

Now, if the meerkat and warthog looked like their cartoon counterparts from the Lion King, that's a different story... :fork:

Oh, the first situation would have been fine.

But this was a complete overhaul involving Timon and Pumbaa as the host of the attraction.

Truthfully I think that the whole situation would have been a downhill doublewhamming disaster!

I mean first off you knoooooow that they'd make it more toward little kids then adults. And also what always happens when they change a ride and add in movie characters, well let's just say that IMHO most of the time (80/20) it goes bad. Look at SGE.

Contrasting when you have the Skippers, they are truthfully delighting. Even if you don't think that they did a good job others might have. Also if you think that they did a bad job then you can look forward even more to the next trip. Also when they do a good job you are greatly pleased and put in a good mood. How wood you feel to get up in front of that crowd of people you don't know and pitch jokes you don't know if they are funny? Truthfully I find it terrifying!

This is all IMHO.

I don't understand how everyone says what makes or breaks the Jungle Cruise is the skipper. It's a common fact to anyone who's been on the jungle cruise more than once that you can get a skipper that can be a real downer. So if Disney came up with an alternative that would focus less on the skipper and more on the show scenes how would that be such a bad thing, not to mention wonders for the skippers' voices at the end of their day

They already did this. It's called Kilimanjaro Safaris at DAK.

Because...it's true.

It's a common fact to anyone who's been on the jungle cruise more than once that you can get a skipper that can be a real downer.

And if you get a good one, it makes it one of the best rides in the park.

So if Disney came up with an alternative that would focus less on the skipper and more on the show scenes how would that be such a bad thing, not to mention wonders for the skippers' voices at the end of their day

Because it would destroy the terrific entire family ride that is the Jungle Cruise into yet another kiddy ride. Not too mention the loss of another classic to another needless change.

I'm so happy, as would the majority of guests, that it never happened/won't happen.

timon and pumbaa....lol!, don't care about the spellin, it ain't happenin!...before that we were cringing with a possible George of da jungle WDW 1974...I've been a skip for many years, everyone knows me as a zany fungi...or Babs! though my normal name on jungle is whining Wilderness William...I have DL skips ride my boat all the time, fun stuff...we never claim who is funnier, we just have fun, apparently you are unlucky with your skips or some other reason, but please don't even think about comparisons and stereotyping whos caring and whos not before you actually do your research. as far as the spart that has been removed, it's we can't say the "inspires you to go schtick"! at inspiration, a statement that's been in our spiel since day one, but our fearless leader, decided he didn't like it, so it's out...:ROFLOL::ROFLOL:the nerveousness is the managers saying they'll be watching us...good for them...my understanding with this new spiel is more options, not curtailing what we say so much as adding more...... I've even been told my some of the trainers that this makes my speil og...this is funny:king::sohappy: what we they possibly thinking...ohh fun.... monorail joke by the way is a terminable offense, don't get caught, that's all I got to say on that one! fudge, where's that stool sample..get your minds out of the gutter BTW

Cheers,

What monorail joke and why is it so offensive?

It's not offensive, it's just not allowed, and incredibly frowned upon.

It's before the temple, with the fallen pillars.

"And right there you can see Walt Disney World's first attempt at the monorail system."
