WDI currently working on Jungle Cruise

You know what, my statement wasn't an absolute. I'm quite sure there are some CMs out there who aren't 21 and in college, 75 and moved to the Sunbelt to get away from the Pittsburgh winters or from Italy here on the IP yet they still do great jobs and love what they do.

But the tone of your post, and the desire for me to not give my opinions tends to make me think you're not one of them.

Or maybe it's just a simple case of you subconsciously acknowledging that my statement is largely accurate.

I dunno. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. And both Anaheim and Paris have better pay and better working conditions largely ... and with any company, doesn't that tend to lead to having a better workforce?

Thats odd that they pay more because I just returned from Anaheim and the feeling I got from the cast members there was much more I'm just here to get my hours and go home than I ever got in Orlando. The quality of some of the attraction well thats a different story....

If anything I am glad to see the attraction getting some love ... I know it will be either the first or second attraction we ride when we hit the MK in November.

So let me be sure I got this right. Anyone that disagrees with your viewpoint is a slacker and should not be working at Disney.
Exactly unkadug. WDW1974, me not wanting to hear your negative views on every aspect of Disney apparently translates to:

A) me not being a CP, retiree, or ICP at Jungle

or

B) me actually agreeing with your statements

I'm trying to see the logic in your post. Usually people will have good responses to back up their views if they've been called out. You have me lost. :veryconfu

Forgive me if I'm reposting things that have already been mentioned in this thread....

I rode JC late (10 pm) on Friday night, and noticed a couple things that were interesting (at least to me).

1. The natives were not dancing around in a circle -- they were stationary. The skipper even mentioned this, and then made a joke about it. Perhaps WDI was already getting ready to work on something after closing?

2. The skipper used a lot of lines I hadn't heard before. Not enough to make me believe that it was an entirely new script, but perhaps she had seen the new script and started to incorporate some elements. For example, when we came upon the wrecked plane, she did the normal "A wrecked plane in the jungle can only mean one thing" and then followed with..."That's right, we've found the set of Lost!" Later, she mentioned that the natives with spears were of the Britney tribe, and therefore we shouldn't be worried because "Britney Spears are pointless." There were a few other lines that were new to me as well.

3. The skipper did not mention Dr. Albert Falls or the backside of water. I assume that was just because it was late and she was trying out other things. Those lines better stay in the new script.

That's their own lines. Terrible ones at that, IMO.

They will be, but most skips don't use the Albert Falls joke...because it's terrible.

I liked the Lost line, but not the Britney Spears one. As for Albert Falls, for those of us old enough to actually have heard of Albert Schweitzer, it's a classic line. And I'm surprised to hear that most skips don't use it -- I'm pretty sure I've heard it about 90% of my cruises.

Most newer ones don't use it. I know I've never used it, since most people don't laugh at it.

^ I hope the skipper did those herself...too much POP culture.

Then you people would HATE me as a Skipper.

"Wow. This is a real treat to see a Tiger in the wild...You know how the poem goes...Tiger Tiger, burning bright in the forests of the night...Now let's get outta' here before it decides to take a bite."

"What fascinating secrets this temple could tell us...Let me see if I can decipher some of this...Va....Ca...Tion...Club? *Gasps* They were Timeshare salesman! Amazing!"

"Well I'd like to thank you for joining me here on the Jungle Cruise, and for those of you asking yourself how we saw so much in less than ten minutes, I'd like to remind you that we also happened to pass through the Bermuda Triangle. Problem...Solved."

"Now before you go, I'd like to take a minute of your time to tackle an important, everyday issue facing Hundreds of people...Frequent Repeating Skipper Syndrome, an everyday issue facing hundreds of people. Skippers, who keep repeating the same thing hundreds of times a day. So I'd like to take a minute of your time to tackle this important, everyday issue of Skippers Repeating themselves hundreds of times a day...This issue facing hundreds of...Oh, wow, we're here already. Well watch your step and don't cross over the boxes, and be sure to gather all personal belongings, and watch your step. Be sure to write in about FRSS to your local politicians and congressmen and tell them personally to watch their step, and have a great night at the Magic Kingdom! Oh, and be sure to gather your personal belongings...and watch your step. Have a great night at the Magic Kingdom too! Buh-Bye...Buh-bye now..."

I don’t know if this has been said, BUT, I was on the Keys to the Kingdom tour on FRIDAY (Oct. 16th) and the skipper who rode with us AND the TOUR GUIDE said that they were re-working the script… (they didn’t seem to happy about it either).. Just letting you know what I heard.

It seemed that it would become “more stricter” (if that is a word)… And would allow for LESS improve, etc… Also, when I was backstage, (this is probably normal but..) they had SEVERAL hippos getting re painted.

What? It's my favorite joke in the entire repertoire.

One problem I've experienced with this joke--and with a lot of other jokes in the script--is skippers try too hard to underline the joke. Humor works much better when a person doesn't "act funny." Think of Leslie Nielsen in the Airplane/Naked Gun films; if he didn't act as though he didn't realize anything he was saying was funny, it wouldn't make us laugh. Too often on the Cruise, I hear drawn-out "it's-a-joke" pauses, annoying little elbows in the ribs. "It's named after the famous Albert........Falls."

Yea. I don't mean to sound full of myself, but I'm fairly good at the whole comedic thing, and no one has ever laughed at the Albert Falls joke.
