Actually no, I heard they are leaving the wand up and restructuring it to look like a birthday candle when they make SSE look like a gigantic pink birthday cake for Epcot's 25th.

Well, EPCOT already got the hand, animal gets the shoes for the base of the Tree of Life and Magic gets the cloak for the castle to wear.

So it would basically be a big cake ball? That would be bizaar. But, Mickey's wand will be replaced by a huge cigerette lighter that lights the 25 candles on the big cake. Every night, a special ceremony takes place in which the end of the cigerette lighter bursts into real flames and Mickey's voice can be heard saying "Happy Birthday Epcot! Here's to 25 year- OUCH! Holy s#$%t mother f&$%#%er I just burned myself. Ow..."

I don't hate it and I don't love it. If they kept it there I would not be like dang you Disney but also if they took it down I wouldn't be like dang you Disney. I must be missing what is so bad (or good) about the wand.

I think some people (like me) don't think that wand is so bad on its own but that it makes SSE look a little silly.

Oh I think a big ole ball a pink cake would be lovely! I haven't heard anything about the Happy Birthday Epcot thing, but maybe they can firgure out a way to light the candles without it burning Mickey's hand.

The wand is going down, it is being melted down and Disney is building 9 bowling pins with the metal to be knocked down by Spaceship Earth.

I heard the bowling pins will be replace the fountain, and special rails will be installed to allow SSE to become a bowling ball. No word if the ball will hook, or be a straight-on shot at the pins. If SSE scores a strike, everyone in the park that day will receive a free DVC video!

Seriously the wand wouldn't be too bad if they would just move it away from SpaceShip Earth.SSE is a statemant in itself, it does not need a hige Mickey Arm holding a wand to let you know that you are in Epcot.Does The Magic ingdom need a huge arm reaching over the caslte to tell you that?No the building is a symbol of what the park is and does not need any further explanation.

I do think that the arm should be moved(I would hare for it to be wasted=p)right next to the monorail tracks so that when it acts as a external sign post wheb SSE can't be seen.

Hopefully this wish of ours will come true...and you know what they say about wishes...:ROFLOL:

Sorry, I just don't think the wand will ever come down, just by considering the money already invested in putting it up.

Funny, when I go to Epcot, the last thing on my mind is the wand, I feel I have better things to think about. I guess it must be the people who are not there who must complain about something....:ROFLOL:

Just a thought.... seeing that Universal now owns Harry Potter... I bet Disney could easily resell the wand over to them..... errr... I mean... a bus driver told me that Disney was to sell the wand to Universal for them to use over at the new Harry Potter area of IOA... seriously...
