Walls in HM Queue

Last I knew they had boarded up the view from the physical queue and there is a large green tarp/scrim on the water side.

Darn...well thats potentially problematic. I'll try riding the riverboat and going on one of the upped decks and try and shoot over the wall that way. I should be making a little side trip there tomorrow to see the new pooh que and I'll do my best to get some mansion pictures while I'm there.

Here is an update from 2 weeks ago. The mesh screen that is up can clearly be seen through. I stuck my camera over the wall and snapped away...

You can see some work here...

And you can actually tell where they have taken out all the dirt here:

As you can see by the picture, they are REALLY pushing that wall back. And we are no where near it being done.

So this 6 months date is accurate?

That's kinda a downer, since the reason we're going to WDW is because I've been mansion obsessing for a year straight.

The ride will still be open though, yeah?
I got the information from a HM fan blog so I'm not 100% sure if it's accurate, but it sounds about right. But at least Haunted Mansion will still be open all throughout the graveyard refurb, since it's only really affecting the queue.

What happened to finishing it up in January???

The article was posted Oct. 5, so the queue could be finished around late January/late February based on the information from that blog I linked to.

Late January would be awesome - I'd get to experience it Jan 30-Feb 5, and take fresh photos.

I never get to take pics of anything new *pouts in the corner*

I'm not sure where to post this. Maybe admin can help me out. I chose this thread because it is somewhat related to HM. (which is my favorite attraction).

Rolly Crump who worked directly with Walt Disney in creating the Haunted Mansion has just let me know about the release of his new audio walking tour of Disneyland. He is a true Disney legend. I want to know if ok to post a link to his page for fans to get the guide.

The info is also on my blog wdwprince.com

Thanks.

Thanks!

Looks like it will be much larger than previously thought. Is that a new doorway? Or is it/was it a basement window?

One is an entrance. The other one may be the one leading to a new staircase for emergency exit. I know the staircase is in the plans so I'm guessing it may be for that.

raven,

Will we be entering the HM through a new entrance or continue to enter where we do now? And will the queue now be completely indoors or still outdoors?

Will this look like just more of a garden or a bit of a graveyard or will this be more like the queue at DL? I don't really know what to expect.

Same entrance but this is just an added queue right before entering. It will be outdoors.

what with the pages and pages of questions and speculation i havent actually gone and read the whole thread. so forgive me if this is another repeated speculation.

ive thought, what with this extended que-line being built and then recently watching The Nightmare Before Christmas on bluray and looking at the haunted mansion holiday doc, do people think that we could be seeing a haunted mansion holiday overlay at WDW in 2011???

Highly doubtful. Current management does not like seasonal overlays. They take attractions out of service, cost money and show little if no financial return.
